Just for the sake of clarity, here’s the pinned comment from parts 1, 2, and 3 answering any FAQs regarding the series! • Why are you using plant food if PvZ1 doesn’t have plant food? I didn’t think about this going into the challenge, but I’ll be sticking to using plant food due to how PvZ2 is designed around this mechanic. • Why won’t you use premiums from the first game in this challenge? The main reason I’m not using premiums is just to have strategies for this challenge be more accessible to everyone. *There are exceptions to this rule, I can use them in SD and LaL levels, and as Tier 2-4 plants* But I’m limiting myself as much as possible in order to make this challenge as fun and “freemium” as possible! *Also gem plants and Torchwood are exceptions to this rule.* • Can’t you use [insert plant here], they were in PvZ1 China? And what about [PvZ2 plants that function the same as a PvZ1 plant that isn’t in the game]? The way I see it, *plants such as Bonk Choy were designed as PvZ2 plants first, and were added to PvZ1 China later, so I’m not counting them as PvZ1 plants.* Iceberg Lettuce, while possibly based off of a scrapped PvZ1 plant, was also redesigned as a PvZ2 plant. As for plants like Gloom Vine, Ice Bloom, Homing Thistle, etc., I’ve allowed them for use, but through the Four Tier system. If a level is beaten using a Tier 3 plant, the level was technically completed using a PvZ2 plant that acts as a PvZ1 plant without the use of plant food. Whether you see levels beaten with Tier 3 plants as beaten with PvZ1 plants is up to interpretation, although the ultimate goal of this challenge is to beat as much as possible WITH ONLY Tier 1 plants. • Hey, did you know that you can change Peashooter back to level 1/obtain seed packet plants by editing the game’s files? I know that now, thanks to you all! However, I don’t want to edit my save files. I’ve had decent luck obtaining seed packet plants through the shop, and Peashooter hasn’t been significant enough in the run for me to want to edit the files. • I noticed you have [premium plant], aren’t they premium? Just for the sake of completion (and for the expansion levels), I’m trying to obtain as many PvZ1 premium/seediums plants as possible! Just because I have them doesn’t mean they’re “legal” for this challenge, I just want to collect them. If I ever use them, make sure to understand the context of to why I’m using them (which would be addressed or implied in the video when I used them (aka., the Four Tier system). :) I’ll update this with more questions and answers as I find more or come up with more. I appreciate any and all suggestions, but I’d rather you all have official answers before the next part!

Seriously, MAD props for beating Wild West Day 35 with only pvz1 plants and without boosted or leveled up plants. Considering how hard that level is already by default, that is an achievement that deserves respect

Really glad to be part of this wonderful journey back to PvZ2, and splitting up all the usable plants into tiers for these expansions was a pretty creative way of spicing things up. That being said, I can't wait to do this with only Tier 1 stuff. :3

Yo thanks for the shout out man. During those months I also took a shot at the expansion but didn’t record and also leveled up my plants cuz I kinda moved on from the challenge but I do have some tips overall Wild West day 35: you can stun zomboss entirely with spikeweed plant food while you have some hypno gargs hitting zomboss The last stands in Ancient Egypt, Jurassic Marsh and modern day: I beat these just using potato mine spam and saved the rest of the sun on cherry bombs On that ancient Egypt conveyor level the game stops giving you pea pods once you start getting repeaters so I’d suggest shoveling all pea pods at that point Other than that I had a lot of fun watching this series as it got me back into this game after leaving it such a long time ago. P.S. seeing that spikerock upgrade after beating frostbite caves day 21 broke me inside lol

It took me boosting my entire zen garden and leveling up my plants… to die on phase 3 :)

ive beaten wild west day 31 many times and this is how i do it : 1. ALWAYS put celery at the back, you need space at the front for shadow shrooms and stalias 2. bonk choy at front 3. try to use the minimal amount of instas, if not any, except if your conveyor belt is full (same applies to pf) OR 4. poncho = shadow shroom 5. plant food shadow shroom on flag 1 6. and finally spam the hell outta ur instas at the final wave (also pf your shadow shrooms) also btw idk if this workss but for day 32 of ww you can try all potato mine bc all primal potato mine works

I just realized how OP scaredy shroom is in these challenges. Normally you just use peashooter and it works, or whatever better version you have, but with the added limitations, and no leveled plants, having a puff shroom that can do peashooter damage for 1/4 the cost is really broken. #scaredyshroomhasapurposewhoooo! I just wish that getting seedium plants wasn't that grindy, and that there aren't pay-to-get plants.
