Technically the All Trees WR also counts as an All But One Tree WR. He just decided to optionally lose time by grabbing an extra tree.

I mean all but one tree wr would end as soon as he grabbed the tree on sl top. But maybe he could have skipped a different tree. It's actually an interesting question, if you only need to grab all but K trees, which K trees are skipped?

All Trees In-Depth TimeStamps 5:52 - We almost got this category on the leaderboard, but after debate amongst the tree runners, we realized the tree(s) in THI are two separate and not the same tree. So a lot of runs became invalidated because they only touched one tree and we fell short of the informal requirement to get on (~12 runs). 6:43 - MISINFORMATION!!! The Chip Clip was discovered in October 2021. The All Trees (former) WR by NarkMan was set in SEPTEMBER 2022! ChipClip was around, just wasn't used. 7:35 - Ahhhhhh. The ONLY time in my life I can ever say I had a better SM64 run than Simply.... good times... 9:38 - 1,000+ LIKES ON THIS COMMENT IF YOU WANNA SEE A SIMPLY ALL TREES TOURNAMENT!!! 16:05 - For those that don't know, typically in Category Extension runs, unless SBLJ is Required, it is BANNED. The Only Two categories SBLJ is allowed = 10x DDD Skip and 15⭐ - so thank goodness Simply never completed a run with SBLJ (loving all the tree puns you son of a birch) 21:32 - favorite soundbite of this whole saga. Once you're locked into the trees, the love and affinity grow bigger than the Giant Sequoia. 22:52 - MORE MISINFORMATION (saw the stream). After accidentally picking up the B.O.B Reds star with 94 Coins in a 120 attempt - there were Two attempts before THE RUN!! Epilogue: The official WR time is 19m46.749s. Simply running All Trees re-ignited interest in the community, All Trees Is Now An Official Category on SPEEDRUN .COM and SIMPLY IS ONCE AGAIN, A WORLD RECORD MARIO 64 RUNNER 🥲 THANK YOU @Simply FOR RUNNING ALL TREES and GGs on WR you Stud!! 💚🌳💚🌳

LOL i love this. Some categories are just so crazy it makes me want to start some too. Like a category of "eat one of every item on taco bell's menu, sit on your toilet (for safety reasons), on a Feb. 29th, with no toilet paper in the room and have your right eye covered with your left hand so you can only play with your right hand". I was just thinking the other day that I would love to see an all one-ups speedrun. They can be in tricky spots, and they do move around a bit and are hidden, so I think there is some visual interest to that.

Good point. A roast chicken from Costco is still poultry. So both logs and the bridge kick at the top of Whomp's should count. Maybe you can make a hybrid "All Wood" category that includes all signs and all doors. And stomping all the logs like the ones in BBB.

Perhaps for a new "speedrun" idea category whatever, how about "Follow the Leader"? like with 16 stars, someone could invent a new, odd and difficult route to the end, and the challengers all have to follow lol jk Or just an idea for speedrunners, One runner could create a short video of them doing a crazy route to one star, and then another runner follows that same route to that star too but then create another route to the second star, third runner now has to follow the route to both stars AND make a route to a third star, and so forth, that'd be pretty fun, but I've no idea how that would work, probably wouldn't but y;know its for shits and giggles.

2 new categories for ya: All doors (using that new glitch to open the door near the momma penguin) And No Extra Coins. So a category where you do a 70 or 120 star run where, you do all the 100 coin and red coin stars, but you don't collect ever collect anything OTHER than 100 coins. So no ending a level with 3 coins, no ending it with 101 coins. No extra coins. I thought of this because Mario has to wait for the 100 coins to count down to 0 after the level is done, which wastes seconds. I wonder how much time would be saved if you avoided every extra coin... probably not much, because you'd prolly have to do extra, slower movement, to dodge em all
