Segment is from the late '50's MGM movie "High School Confidential". The audio was actually released on a MGM 45 record titled "High School Drag" by Phillipa Fallon in 1958. The flip side was "Christopher Columbus Digs The Jive" recited by John Drew Barrymore. Very cool post!

I'm performing at my first poetry slam tonight and one of my friends referenced beatnik. I had never heard of it, this is the first video that popped up when I looked it up and I LOVE it. Would love to see this style come back, complete with the band playing in between segmemts. Also i love when they cut to that one girl who just looks so bewildered by everything 😂
