Hi kids, let me tell you the harsh truth. All those big companies are here to make money, and the small ones thrive to do the same. That’s a definition of a “company” and “capitalism”. Obviously she is not pro material skateboarding wise, but they (Vans, FA…) think they can profit by selling her image to young females, creating a role model from her. Been done a million times in other industries, like music… Who gives a f*? Enjoy skateboarding, hang out with friends and enjoy life. Skateboarding is a beautifull and challenging activity and it’s all that matters.

I’m not a follower of Beatrice but people are hating. Skateboarding is actively going through a cultural shift. All Vans is saying is that you don’t have to skate like Gin Woo to be an endorsed skater and y’all cannot take it 😂 Is she wildly impressive? No! But she’s markedly better than a beginner, and doesn’t “look like” a professional skater. You’d have to be blind not to realize the impact and signal that tells other people, people that think skateboarding might not be for them initially. Vans is telling little girls and every “other” to pick up that board and land a crusty kick flip because fuck it, they can. On top of that it makes good financial sense. Is everyone that buys a bike intending to bike the Tour de France? Nah. If that were the case companies like Schwin would make a lot less every quarter. Vans is trying to bring skateboarding outside of the intense niche to widen the sport to more folks. That said it’s evident Beatrice is just a young woman reeling, and some of y’all take delight in knowing it bothers her. She needs to understand that whether pissy young men like her or not, she’s making more money than the vast majority ever will and they still have to say her name to get clout. But I digress, proud of her.
