The poem: I'm a girl, or maybe I'm not. The first time I breathed in that thought I was far too old to be redefining myself, so I coughed it out like a stale cigarette after a long night of bad decisions, looked at my reflection and told myself, "You're wrong." That night I put on the shortest skirt I had and went out dancing. 'til I realised I was only skirting around my deepest fears. You see, every time someone calls me "she", my stomach turns and my skin feels thick, like someone raised a panic alarm in my brain. And with every "her" that gets hurled my way, I get turned around. I'm not lost, just never seemed to have the right map. But see, I'm not trapped in a body I hate. Just wrapped in words that don't relate to the way my skin feels on my bones. Or the way that I only feel like home, when no one knows what exactly it is I am, so... Maybe I'm a man. Except I don't think that's right. There's never been a fight like bar brawls through my veins telling myself that I need to change. "Him"...feels like synonymous with someone else. "He", a chorus unto itself. And "his" just fits too loosely. So, maybe I'm not. Either, I mean. I go online to see, "do you realise no one's buying this?" Do you realise, I'm not selling myself short anymore? 'cause for the first time I opened up the door to possibility of being myself, I found a treasure map I left for myself back when I was a kid. When the only thing I was scared of losing was my sense of self. You see, I never thought we were speaking the same language until someone said "they" instead. So tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm broken, tell me I must hate myself to be the way I am. And I will tell you I never knew what it was like to fly until I let myself breathe in. I finally found my map, you know, X marks the spot.

Despite me having to go through multiple phases of discovery and rejection. My family when I first came out as non-binary didn’t believe me until I got more comfortable and came out as a trans man. This was so relatable I cried my eyes out watching it. I’m not non-binary, but I’m gender fluid, and it’s really hard to fit in with that identity. In my old school I was constantly bullied because of it. I had supportive friends thankfully, but very few. I moved this year and I’ve been hiding it for a while. Only two people I really trust know about it. I honestly don’t want it to get out as it could cause more problems, but at the same time it’s torture trying to keep it in. I love how Ash was so confident and was able to speak their mind in front of their class. I for one could never. I just wish transphobic and homophobic people didn’t exist, or at least just kept to themselves instead of feeling the need to tell us how they feel about us. This was really beautiful, and I loved every second of it. Thank you so much for this, it really made my day.

Ashes poem: "I'm a girl, or maybe I'm not. The first time i breathed in that thought I was far too old to be redefining myself, so I coughed it out like a stale cigarette after a long night of bad decisions. I looked at my reflection and told myself, 'You're wrong.' That night I put on the shortest skirt I had and went out dancing, until I realized I was only skirting around my deepest fears. You see, every time someone calls me 'she,' my stomach turs and my skin feels thick like someone raised a panic alarm in my brain, and with every 'her' that gets hurled my way, i get turned around. I'm not lost, just never seemed to have the right map. But see, I'm not trapped in a body i hate, just wrapped in words that don't relate to the way my skin feels on my bones, or the way that i only feel like home, when no one knows what exactly i am so... Maybe i am a man. except I don't think that's right. There has never been a fight like bar brawls through my veins telling me I need to change. 'him' feels like synonymous with someone else, 'he' a chorus unto itself, and 'he' just fits too loosely. so maybe I'm not... either, I mean I go online to see "do you realize no one is buying this?" Do you realize I'm not selling myself short anymore? Because for the first time I have opened up the door to the possibility of being myself. I found a treasure map that I made for myself when i was a kid, when the only thing I was scared of losing was my sense of self. You see, i never thought we were speaking the same language until someone said 'they' instead. So tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm broken, tell me i must hate myself so much to be the way i am. And i will tell you I never knew what it was to fly until i let myself breathe in. I finally found a map, you know? Like X-marks the spot." Every line in the poem has a meaning, and it wouldn't be complete without the line. edit: holy shit thx for the likes lol

This video gave me the courage to express who I am, as a fellow non-binary, I’ve been bullied and friend zoned, they just told me “You’re a girl not ‘non-binary’”Which then I told myself “I’m a girl, I’m a girl” Till I fell asleep, but then I found this girl I liked and she was lesbian when I met her, everyday I thought to myself “Wow, she’s so pretty”, so I asked her out and she said yes, I was so happy, then we hanged out everyday sense that day, then I asked her to be my girlfriend two years later and she said yes, I told her I was non-binary and that I got bullied a couple weeks later and she said “Who cares, you are who you are, I love you for who you are, don’t let anybody bring you down” and she gave me some courage but not enough but then I came across this video, and that video has given me the courage to speak up and not be embarrassed for who I am. I just wanna tell you no matter what you are, Lesbian, Gay, Pansexual, etc, you are who you are, don’t let anybody bring you down, love who you wanna love❤️ Hole thing from, ~Eli (My non-binary name)

I watched this as a 10 year old kid and thought “it’s simple. Just pick one”. I was raised in such a homophobic household, but when my best friend said they had a crush on me, and that they were gay, things changed in my mindset. I questioned everything my family said, but also was programmed to believe everything they said, I was so conflicted. Until now, when I realized how toxic my family was, through mental and (rarely) physical abuse, it finally clicked that I can choose what I believe, and if I just become what my parents believe, I would have to live a complete lie, and wouldn’t be able to be my own person. 3 years from the last time I watched this, I have now decided I’m a bisexual *person*, who doesn’t have to live in the confines of gender unless I feel it’s true to me that day. This video and it’s title has been engraved in my mind for those 3 years, and will be forever remembered until I die. Thank you for helping mine and so many others’ journeys.

There are only two genders: girls and boys. Don't try to be stupid!
@AbbyBolt_106 ай бұрын
Sorry, but that isn't healthy. You got influenced by lgbtq just bc you can. This is what people should be warned about. You shouldn't be able to 'choose' your sexuality. Society has become a disgrace and now there are younger individuals thinking they want to be bi or change their gender just to fit it. Why can't people see how wrong that is?
