According to the legend of the people there, Zaria Mahadev was worshiped by the Pandavas, hence it is believed to have been established there since that time. The surprising thing is that there is no lake, no river around Zaria Mahadev, yet the continuous drops of water fall on the Shivling from where Zaria Mahadev is seated. That is, for 365 days 24 hours, continuous water anointing continues on the Shivlinga. Till date no one has been able to find where this water comes from. It is said that during the drought, there was a hard time in Kapra and when there was no water anywhere, people from seven to seven villages used to come here to get water. That is to say, when the entire region dried up. He was gone, pressed by drought, but the water of Zaria Mahadev did not stop falling. Even today, if you go there, the water drips continuously. Believe it is a miracle or God's grace, it is a matter of faith. But the opportunity to enjoy the natural place there must be taken once. This place is known as Zariya Mahadev as the water flows continuously.
ચોટીલા પાસે આવેલું ઝરીયા મહાદેવ નું ધામ ખૂબ જ પુરાતન સમયનું માનવામાં આવે છે. ત્યાંના લોકોની દંતકથા અનુસાર ઝરીયા મહાદેવ પાંડવો દ્વારા પૂજવામાં આવ્યા હતા એટલે તે સમયથી ત્યાં પ્રસ્થાપિત થયેલા માનવામાં આવે છે. આશ્ચર્યની વાત એ છે કે ઝરીયા મહાદેવની આસપાસ નથી કોઈ તળાવ નથી કોઈ નદી છતાં જ્યાં ઝરીયા મહાદેવ બિરાજમાન છે તેની ઉપરથી અવિરત પાણીના ટપકા શિવલિંગ ઉપર પડ્યા કરે છે. એટલે 365 દિવસ 24 કલાક શિવલિંગ ઉપર અવિરત પાણીનો અભિષેક ચાલુ જ રહે છે. આ પાણી ક્યાંથી આવે છે એ આજ સુધી કોઈ શોધી શક્યું નથી.કહેવાય છે, દુકાળના સમયમાં કપરામાં કપરો સમય આવ્યો હતો અને ક્યાંય પાણી ન હતું ત્યારે સાત સાત ગામથી લોકો પાણી ભરવા માટે અહીં આવતા હતા.એટલે કહેવાની વાત એ છે કે આખો પ્રદેશ જ્યારે સુકાઈ ગયો હતો, દુકાળમાં દબાઈ ગયો હતો છતાં ઝરીયા મહાદેવ નું પાણી પડવાનું બંધ થયું ન હતું. આજે પણ તમે ત્યાં જાઓ તો પાણી સતત ટપક્યા કરે છે ચમત્કાર માનો કે ભગવાનની કૃપા માનો તે શ્રદ્ધાનો વિષય છે. પણ ત્યાંની પ્રાકૃતિક જગ્યા ને માણવાનો અવસર એક વખત તો અવશ્ય લેવો જ જોઈએ. સતત પાણી ઝરતું રહેતું હોવાથી આ જગ્યાને ઝરીયા મહાદેવ તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે.
