I’ve been “playing” the guitar for I’m ashamed to say how many years. I could make my fingers do what I wanted but never really knew where they were supposed to go or why. Which limited me to only copying what I see rather than actually knowing what I was doing. I have learned so much more watching your videos in so little time. I see how it all fits together. Thanks Paul.

Also remember to follow your ear as you play. Sometimes your fingers won't know where to go, but as you start to explore the fretboard, your ear will.

@fletchdad
@fletchdad 3 жыл бұрын
This is off topic (sorry about this Paul, but I am sure you understand). Turmeric. I have different joint trouble, arthritis being one of the lesser ones (and it is not a lesser evil as you probably know). I have been taking about 3/4 of a teaspoon of ground turmeric in a tea mixture that I drink daily. Now, this is in about 1/2 gallon of tea, but I drink it throughout the day. It has helped tremendously, although it took about 2-3 months before I noticed anything at all, so regular intake is paramount. Just in case this is of interest to you.

I know metal and distortion are not his thing, but it seems weird to talk about guitar arpeggios and not mention one of its most widely usages. They are basically everything he said here but with strong emphasis on hammer-ons and pull-offs, plus instead of picking notes individually you need to master a coordinated sweeping up and down in order to get the proper speed.

Hey Paul! One thing I've been wondering for few weeks now is, how come you speak english so well? and how come you started making english videos back in the days? Is there a video or a podcast where you talk about that?

The preludes been in basically every final fantasy. I was actually just playing it on the piano today and thought this also sounded similar. Tho a lot of arpeggios do.

Can't actually play the Final Fantasy scale on 6 string guitar because there are higher notes than what is available on the guitar.
