If Bouthier did that kick under the 50-22 rule, I don’t think I would be able to cope with how perfect it was
@nedbrown4378
@nedbrown4378 2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t of been perfect because it bounced outside the 22 which means it would still be England’s line out

@@nedbrown4378 that’s not how the 50:22 works. If it lands indirectly inside the 22 from a phase from outside the 50 the 50:22 goes. Doesn’t matter where it bounces

When players start seeing the positive results of the 50-22 rule we will be seeing a lot more of these . It's a great attacking weapon to have a 15 (or any backline player) with a cannon for a boot

Could be a mess mate. Will the most attacking team, Exeter, unleash their most effective counter attacker, Hogg, or will they just use his big boot? I know what I'd rather watch.

Love these. The split second calculation so they know exactly how to hit it never ceases to amaze me. Especially towards the tail end of the match, when the fatigue is kicking in. Kickers are bloody clever! Edit: ok, maybe sometimes it’s a case of “hoof it and hope for the best”!

Excellent. I remember requesting this video ages ago. People always love a good touch finder but you never see them in the highlights videos

Under the 50:22 rules they're testing out most of these would have been line outs for the attacking team. You can see this tactic is just going to completely take over once teams get used to it.

I know the intent of 50 22 rule is to open running game pulling back defensive wings, but won't it just encourage a multitude of high reward kicks from own half with kicks in return for isolated defender only option ? Interested to see how tacticians play it.

Nothing more demoralizing for the attack and spirit lifting for the defense than a line clearing Punt to half after a goalline stand. Had a 10 who could do that, we called him the saint

I love a good touch finder (particularly a torpedo) but I must say, even as someone who primarily follows league with the 20/40 and 40/20 that I'm not a fan of the 50-22 rule. 28 metres is nothing in elite rugby and when the laws have been tweaked in the past few years to keep the ball in play, it just doesn't make sense. Don't mind it in reverse, a 22-50 (so long as it's not on the full) to get out of trouble with the added risk of turning possession over without the safety of a lineout, but I think the new rule as is will change the game in a way that is not necessarily its intended aim.
@mr.codingmaster2

can i just point out how most of these kicks are spirals. Why don't people see that this is THE kick to get territory. Especially now under the new 50:22 rule, people should be using these every time. There is always so much space in the backfield but for some reason most players decide to just kick it STRAIGHT TO THE OTHER PLAYER. What is up with that? Hogg is phenomenal when he just spirals that ball right back. In my opinion, kicking for territory is one of the best things to get your team back into the game. If you do it right, it not only boost your teams energy but it completely psych's out the other teams mentality.
