Chateau Unwrapped!

Chateau Unwrapped!

Жыл бұрын

In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. KZfaq earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:

British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1,255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020 & Jan & Feb 2021:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa R100,000 (approx €5,800)
March 2021:
Suffolk Artlink £1,505
April 2021:
Association Petit Prince €1,689
May 2021:
Melanoma Focus €1,204
June 2021:
Aide aux Jeunes Diabétiques €1,735
July, August & September 2021:

I used to show the gifts as part of ' @The Chateau Diaries ' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us 💖💖💖
If you would like to see more of our life at the chateau, please go to our main 'Chateau Diaries' channel:

Pavlenas new shorter hairstyle really suits her, she is such an attractive lady and has a wonderful aura surrounding her. She does not say much but she is so attentive and hears all but mostly keeps her own counsel, never seeks attention. She is a special lady and deserves happiness, she must be weighted down with worry of the war going on in her homeland.x

One of the fun things you can do with the drink charms is to go around and ask someone if their charm means something to them. Why they chose that charm over the others. Sometimes the answers are hilarious or you learn something new about someone. So many great, great gifts yet again.

So when you opened the peacocks at the beginning and thought they were pheasants it made me think of Jenny from Jenny’s Château Farm. I had never seen a pheasant either and they had one die on their property. They weren’t sure what happened but they had been digging a trench to plant their hedge, and she and her husband gave it a proper burial. She was so gentle with it. Such beautiful creatures. Almost as beautiful as a male peacock. 😢😊

They are a wonderful organization. They did the tent hospital in town during the Covid pandemic. One note, if they are overseas, there have been issues in non-Christian countries, as they want to spread the word. Turkey and Syria are conservative Muslim countries.i just listened to the Public Radio interview with the Muslim women who have arrived in the hundreds to prepare the dead for burial. Families of several generations have passed down the traditional washing of the dead rituals. Teachers, housewives, university students, etc, are answering the call. The Red Crescent is taking donations as is United Nations organizations. They will need to rebuild for years to come. Some towns lost half the town and their people.

The "tulip" fabric is washable. It's polyester and easy to machine wash and drip-dry though or tumble dry in a cooler dryer. The painted irises are special edition iris germanica crosses from a local wholesale greenhouse. They are now collector plants which, unfortunately, are no longer available. I didn't know what to do with the paintings which I did for a market garden that was selling the plants back in the mid-90s. In my own garden I only have the 'Boo' and 'Speckled Sprite' which are Intermediate germanica irises (mid-sized) that have survived. I hope to propagate at least the Boo this year - if it grows enough - not to sell but to spread around my garden. It isn't quite white nor sheer but more like a "see-through" white and blue - very unusual. Anyway, they are for your library of paintings from "around the world".

Have you watched the series of "Sissi" movies from the 1950s? You must! It is the best. Not really historical but stunning Romy Schneider plays the young empress (at 16 about Sissi's age) and Fritz Karl Boehm plays her husband, the emperor. Please remove any pins asap in case they rust and ruin the fabrics - you will never get the rust out. Embroidering with metallic thread is tricky. As a former member of an Embroiderer's Guild, I'd say the person who embroidered these is pretty darned good. The butterfly fabric would make a fabulous waistcoat, bowtie and cummerbund ... very 80s.
