begin to develop discernment and wisdom
First we submit and symbol and sign to the authority of the scriptures

Are you the kind
That's completely consumed by symbols and signs?
If you are that's fine
But don't you find it interesting
How most of the time your self interpreting
Seem to coincide with what's deep inside your hearts desire
Seems rather convenient doesn't it?
I'm not saying that God can't do it, not saying God won't do it
That might very well be the case
I'm simply making an observation
of how much weight you place on it
What seems to be at stake
And how much of your faith is actually banking on it
And how much of your mysticism
is mixed into your religious philosophic system
Sometimes what we believe to be true
from our supernatural pursuits
Is actually a fluke,
a series of events used to distract you from truth
But I'll give you a sign thats obvious
One of the most supernatural acts
is that God through his word
Has actually revealed everything pertaining to life and godliness
There's this idea that an individual
is somehow more spiritual
If he see these so signs and symbols
And takes what's normally invisible and make it simple.
But I say the mark of a mature man
Is the one who reads Gods word and understands
And allows that, to govern his decisions and perspective plans.

I like it when the winds shifts
They say it's a movement in the spirit
Still small voice yal hear it?
Remember that time I saw that leaf fall
I was positive it was Gods call
Wait for it listen close. Yal miss it?

I know that God did it
And does it still, still His presence feels like the chills right
And if I'm honest it don't happen often is something must be wrong
It's boring when my life is more like the book of Ruth than exodus
Never seen the parting of an ocean
or a Cloud by day and pillar by night
Just normal everyday working of life
Where things that suck royally is evidence of his royalty
Scratch your temple so deep its simple
Silly us ignore the plain, we prefer a riddle
Dying to see miracle while holding Gods diary

The song is simply preaching this, that we as Christians are always looking for symbols,signs,miracles, and so many other things for God to reveal Himself instead of reading God's Word and understanding that that's where already revealed Himself. This quote from Todd Friel will help: " Can God do some type of miracle to reveal himself? Yes, but most of the time you don't know when that happens, so to base your life on it is to make your life as stable as water.". See, the problem is that we have been so consumed by our own intuitions, feelings and inpressions that we have for gotten that has already shown us everything pertaining to Life and Godliness (2 Peter 1:3), reproof, correction, guidance, training in righteousness(2 Tim 3:16). Surgeon said it like this: "to live by impressions is oftentimes to live the life of a fool and, even to fall into downright rebellion against the revealed Word Of God! Not your impressions, but that which is in this Bible must always guide you!... if it is not according to this Word, the impression come not from God...". Live by God's Word, not intuitions, impressions or feelings.

@@matthewsandia #1 I know you wouldn't find it strange if your conspiracy theory KZfaq videos would show symbols it was talking about, so it makes zero sense that you would find a Christian video about how men putt their faith in symbols, showing some of those symbols "strange" . Plus just because some may use sone symbols for Masonic reasons doesn't mean they are representing that here. Did you bother to try contact Beautiful Eulogy and ask why they put any of the symbols in the video? Nope? I didn't think so. It's easier for you to just speculate. #2 You should not Cherry pick things Jesus or the disciples said out of context to try to support your conspiracy theory narrative. The scripture is clear about how we expose darkness and make sure we are not deceived, but conspiracy theorists like to ignore the " how". Jesus and the prophets and apostles instruct us not to be involved in speculation and speaking pre sumpiously . #3 It does bother me what you are doing. Coming in here having nothing to say about the message that would automatically refute your so called concerns. That you serve your narrative by implying they might be Masons based on absolutely no actual legitimate basis and no concern for truth. I happen to have personally known the second Rapper T.J. (Odd Thomas), his wife, brother, and mother for several years back in the early 2000's. We went to same small Church. Our Pastor was my personal friend and mentor for 15 years before he passed. I am and have been an Apologist for about 30 years dealing with theology, the cults, occult, conspiracy theorists, etc. Its not about being " mad at you bro". It's about calling you out. I believe you are willfully choosing to ignore the clear lyrics of the song so that you can serve your addiction to manufacture drama. #4 it's kinda funny how you are demonstrating the kind of person they are talking about. One who pays too much attention to and is always looking for Signs and Symbols more than being balanced and grounded in scripture.

Hey guys, greetings from Germany. I stumbled over Beautiful Eulogy a year ago and deeply like the rhythm and even more the theologically and spiritually rich lyrics!! I wish something like this would exist in German so I could share with my fellow Christians. Especially the content of "Symbols and Signs" has much to say in upcoming church movements where the prosperity gospel is starting to become influential... :-(

A lot of this is referring to how many of us use what we deem as miracles to affirm our choice wants. They are NOT saying signs don't exists. They are explaining, when much of your faith relies on those signs, how easily it is to corrupt your path when you use these signs to justify what you want to do versus what God wants you to do. In my experience signs get affirmed through the word, and usually end up with you arguing against God :).

I'm so thankful to have found the work of Beautiful Eulogy. This is an incredibly unique, intelligent expression of the Spirit and I can't get enough. I'm hungry to be around people like this who have clearly spent prayerful time immersed in God's Word & presence, in deep reflection about how the truth relates to their lives and the culture we are living in and allowing themselves to be transformed by Christ. I love that the artists challenge things about this culture and the flesh nature that challenge leading a Spirit-led life and contradict the truth of God's word. This music reminds about how we as believers are on the front lines of spiritual warfare - battling it out daily. It also comforts and encourages me, reminding me about God's limitless power and grace. I can tell one really has to fight to be able to do this kind of work - blood, sweat, and tears. There is so much at odds against the one who strives to obey God's calling to create or do something for His honor and glory. Especially when you bring light to those things the enemy uses to keep people disempowered or distracted.

I don't think this song is discounting that God can show us signs and symbols. It's merely discussing appropriate emphasis and priority. I applaud these guys for pointing us to the paramount. Which is the Words of God. There are symbols and signs in prophecy that are defined by scripture itself but a reasonable assessment of prophecy is different than a fantastical interpretation of every humanly contrived symbol. A symbol is just that it has no intrinsic value or meaning. It's only meaning is that which we assign to it.

It goes as a direct message to charismatic Christian's. Boldly. I know, I have been one for years, interpreting signs and symbols to prophecy. By Gods sovereign hand He decided to chastise, and correct me, and after much grievance and repentance I turned from these, to understand the truth, and the deception that surrounded me, these things i followed were all settled on pride.
