NEW SERIES!!!🔥 Welcome to a new series on stunted growth, where we talk about guys who’s basketball game was just an amazing sight to see and deserve to be appreciated and documented. Not every player has a growth stunt or spurt story, but has one that still should be told. Today that guy is Jamal Crawford. A player that never truly got the recognition for his game, but ask any basketball player and he gets their respect. He’s regarded as having some of the best handles of all time, that’s been proven in many different arenas and every different level literally. Since high school when many of his early coaches would get on him for over dribbling , but something he stuck with and became known for for 20 years professionally. But Jamal didn’t just have dribbling moves that made his game special, he had the entire package. Ask a basketball fan, casual or hardcore and they’ll likely place Kyrie Irving on top when asked the best ball handler ever, but for me that’s hands down Jamal Crawford. When you talk about finishing. Definitely, no question Kyrie Irving, but handles, imo Jamal embodied what you’d imagine the best ever to be. Kyrie’s handles are compact and precise, while Jamal’s are elongated and super deceptive. You’d think a guy that dribbles that high would often lose the basketball or have it stolen from him, but I can honestly say that in 20 years of him being in the league I’ve never seen someone rip Jamal Crawford. He’s never been and NBA all star, and the year he would’ve his team wasn’t good enough. But he did win 3 6 man of the year awards and up to age 37 was a significant part of each team he’s been on in the NBA. His game may not win you championships, it may not go down as the greatest ever all around, but it was beautiful to watch. BEAUTIFUL GAME Series EP 1: Jamal Crawford Is Must See! Stunted Growth

He has family in Alabama. I had the privilege of meeting him when I was 13. He was 15. He was destroying grown men at all the pick up gyms and courts. He told us then he was going to Michigan. If you understand the game, you know when you see somebody special, and that's how special you have to be to make it to the league.

I can't believe he went to Dorsey High School. But I'm not surprised he didn't play there. So many great basketball players that went to that school and didn't play for the school. No wonder we never win anything in basketball, But great in Football and Track.
