Gosh, you really have a handle on your sense of great colors to bring in! As a painter with 35 yrs experience, I haven't seen a single video that's better. Honestly. I just finished a complete new kitchen reno with off white uppers and dark brown wood lower cabinets and anguished over the mix of possibilities for years before jumping in. I loved the results but the thought processes that go into that kind of project (especially when doing it for yourself!!) were mind blowing. Then, I read where you respond to comments. WOW. Few do that here. What a wonderful sense of presenting yourself as a legit source!!!! I am duly impressed and as such, subscribed. TY!! Makes me want to paint the cabinets in my "new-to-me" home, taking them from white washed (PINK!) cabinets to something more palatable. Has to wait for the time being till the cash flow begins again. AGAIN! Thanks so much.

Not doing white but my pickled oak cabinets have got to be changed. 22 years ago they were all right since they came with the house but I'm really tired of them. This video helped me a lot. Wonderful video.

I really like white kitchen cabinets, but I have to be realistic, it’ll get dirty easy, especially around the stove and I have kids. I’ve found beige and taupe is a perfect combination!

Evergreen fog from Sherwin-Williams. It's all the rage right now and homes . Very soft very cozy. It's just a beautiful green. I think it will carry out 2023.

Hi - great video. I have White Quartz (with speckles) countertop with Claros Silver (grey/white/some beige) backsplash. The walls are painted with BM Plaster of Paris. Currently the cabinet is SW Cement Grey. I don’t like it because with varying light throughout the day, it tends to look very purple. There is an island as well which is currently painted a few shades darker. What would be your suggestions I should consider for the cabinets?

You only live once! The great thing about paint is its ability to completely transform the look of a kitchen. So, if you're looking for a change, paint can be a fairly inexpensive way to go.

Hi, great info.Thanx. I am in the process of choosing my right cabinet colour for my new built home.Its a large kitchen and facing north. I kind of like darker shades, which dulux colour do you suggest, dulux fairoaks or dulux klavier? Also, since the whole kitchen cabinetry is going to be dark one tone shade of colour with white benchtop. Do i go for gloss finish or satin finish? Its a large kitchen. Totally need help here!!

This video is very helpful however It didn’t help me to find a color for my vanity. Can you do a video about the best color for bathroom vanity especially when you have cold tiles and warm floor like wood?. I have not clear what is the oak and maple color. My wall tile is a calacatta with a light gray shade and the floor is like wood with light and dark beige tones. Finding a color that goes with both shades is difficult because I don’t know whether to look for cold or warm tones and I think that very white would not be a good contrast. I wish that you can help me and thank you so much.

Thanks for your question! Those cabinets were pre-finished, so I don't have paint color information. They have a satin sheen.

Very informative video. Curious about one of the gray shades you have in the video at 43 seconds with the source as Home Depot. Is it SW Repose Gray or BM Coventry Gray?

Those cabinets use a manufactured finish called Pearl Gray (www.homedepot.com/collection/kitchen-cabinets/tremont-base-cabinets-in-pearl-gray). It would be closer to BM Coventry Gray than SW Repose Gray

Inspiring! This is very helpful. Now I am thinking about using BM Revere Pewter for my kitchen cabinet - will it look good with my dark brown countertop, light taupe floor, and BM White Dove & BM classic grey walls?

Revere Pewter works great with BM White Dove and BM Classic Gray! I recommend holding a sample of Revere Pewter next to your countertops and floors to determine whether or not the tones will work together.

No. As long as you use a high-quality paint for your kitchen cabinets, it will be easy to clean and durable.

What color would you choose with black granite countertops, smartcore Glacier Marble tile floor. Ceiling only has four recessed lights, two small windows.

That tile is very cool-toned with some blue in it, so I'd go with a cool gray, blue-gray, or even a light-to-medium blue. With low light, it's best to keep the cabinet color on the lighter side. You could start with something like BM Stonington Gray or SW Uncertain Gray, or maybe SW Online.

If you don’t have any detail to your cabinets meaning “they are a flat surface type.” Can one still paint any color? Would one paint darker or lighter for example? My cabinets look like a modern contemporary laminate, and still in very good condition. Probably installed in the middle 80’s like 86ish. They do have wood strips pulls in light oakish , I guess that’s a detail. 🤔 Anyway, Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Just an overview, some natural lighting not hugh, and My floor is a darker walnut “wood floor” very warm “reddish” maybe mahogany hue with some stripes of lighter warm hue. Cabinets are a medium brown wood looking laminate and the island is the same with a light tan-ish marble tiles. I can’t afford to replace right now, fairly good condition. Thanks!!!

Just about anything can be painted. In your case, I'd recommend a primer and a great paint sprayer for a smooth finish. Or, better yet, hire a professional. With your flooring, I suggest going lighter with the cabinet paint color, and avoiding gray. A white or off-white, or possibly even a green could work well. Good luck!

Could you do another video for cabinet colors other counttop colors that aren’t white? My countertop is black with stainless appliances. I have no idea what color to paint my cabinets

There are a lot of white countertops in the video, aren't there? Black is a neutral countertop color, so it will also pair well with any of the colors in the video. I recommend sticking with a lighter cabinet color to keep your kitchen from looking overly dark.

My kitchen walls are SW Neutral Ground, my granite is light (with white, gray, and beige in it) and I'm thinking about painting my kitchen countertops SW Aesthetic White. Do you think that will all look good together?

Honestly, I think SW Alabaster might work better with SW Neutral Ground. Just be sure to get samples of each color and compare them next to each other and in the kitchen before committing.

Any thoughts on color pairings for uppers/lowers? I have a standard oak kitchen and am thinking of doing a gel stain on the lowers to an espresso tone (keeping some wood grain showing), and am unsure what to do with the uppers. Thought about white but I'm not sure how I would feel about the grain showing on the lowers and flat paint on the uppers.

I've been thinking of Pashmina for all trim and doors...because my whole house is old contractor's white (the paint is old, not the contractor 😁) and we have a very dusty environment. Would it be OK to use the Pashmina on the kitchen cabinets, also? Or maybe a lighter version? Or maybe add an antiquing gel (just in the kitchen)?

Thank you for this very informative video. I've been following you for a while now, and have used some of your ideas when remodeling. :0) I have a quick question for you, I'm about ready to revamp my kitchen and plan on putting floor to ceiling cabinets on one side of the wall. I have a small kitchen, but big enough to put a small island. I love colored cabinets, would you recommend painting the floor to ceiling cabinets a dark color, such as the blue or go more with the gray? I don't mind gray, but I'd like to have a pop of color someplace. Thank you!

I have blue/gray kitchen cabinets in my house and it gives the cabinets that pop of color without looking too bright or dull. The cabinets have just enough blue to give them that nice soft color and the gray in it keeps it from looking too blue. My friend had her cabinets done in a basic gray color and she is disappointed with the color. I feel that basic gray cabinets can look cold and works best in ultra modern industrial decor. If you go with a gray color, be careful in what you choose. The color I used is called Uncertain Gray, by Sherwin Williams, but it is really more of a blue than a gray color. There are also some nice colors in this video. Hopefully you will find a color you love.

@@kathyroblee-stepro6695 Your welcome, I know it can be tricky picking out the right color. An interior decorator recommended Uncertain Gray to me, otherwise I would not have known about this color. Still there are so many colors to choose from. If you don't mind, could you reply back later in what color you decided to use. Would be nice to know what worked best for you.

I love edgecomb grey for repainting my cabinets - what would you suggest for the walls?

The great thing about Edgecomb Gray is that it works with a wide range of colors. You could go lighter on your walls with something like White Dove, or a few shades darker with Pashmina. Also, anything in the gray-green or blue-gray family will work great!

It really depends on how much natural light your kitchen gets. If your kitchen is light and bright, then black will look great. If your kitchen is fairly dark, then it would be better to go with a lighter cabinet color.

Great suggestion! The source of that image didn't provide a paint color name. Several of the paint colors I recommend in that color family will give a similar look.

What colors do you recommend for Tuscan Samsung appliances and Taj Mahal counter tops?

Whites, Off-Whites, and Warm Greiges will all look great with Taj Mahal countertops and the Tuscan Samsung appliances. BM White Dove or BM Swiss Coffee are worth a try, along with BM Edgecomb Gray, SW Worldly Gray or SW Modern Gray.

Satin sheen is my recommendation for cabinets. If you like a little more shine, you can do a semi-gloss.
