Paints I used:
Golden Fluid Nickel Azo Gold
Golden Fluid Transparent Red Oxide
Golden Fluid Carbon Black
Arteza Bordeaux Red
Custom Mix Of Yellows
Amsterdam Van Dyke Brown (I subbed Carbon Black after the first pour)
Flow extender was several different left-overs mixed together (reds, coppers, golds)

Pouring Medium: 50% Flood Floetrol / 50% Liquitex Pouring Medium and a healthy Splash of Golden Gac 800. Owatrol to thicken some of the paints.
Paint to PM Ratio: 1 part paint to 2.5-3 parts PM (Golden fluid paints a few squirts of paint to 3.5-4 parts Pouring Medium)

What a wonderful way to showcase ring pours. And you keep coming up with ways to define sections of a painting. I used to think pouring meant you sort of did a bit of tilting & stretching but mostly hoped what landed on the canvas was pleasing. Now after watching some recent pours, the sky & beach ones, I am very motivated to try your techniques. I did one and loved it but I think these techniques are going to be my main focus for quite a while. Many thanks!!

Gosh I love this look Cathleen! Stunning! How is it the the first pours don’t move much as you tilt the latter parts? And do you think something similar could be done on a wide canvas (like 36” x 40)? TIA

Yes it can be done on a wider canvas. More paint and more stretching the composition. The reason the first pour composition didn’t move is because i tilted it until there was no movement. You have to learn what to sacrifice Ontario
