Like so many here, I have woken up and spent the morning with Laura. Getting inspired to start my day all while drinking my cup of coffee in the morning. This morning, however, is a very special morning, I’m getting married today (we’re eloping)! I’ve been struggling with figuring out reds and yellows for my different spaces. I’d love to see videos like this for each of the colors! And maybe even videos for different textures, like grassy, feathery, etc, since you mentioned including different textures if you’re doing all green.

PURPLE and PINK!!!! Confessions: I was so sad when you decided to change the "Moon Garden" cause I Loved it so much --- but this West Side Garden is now what I call "The ROYAL Garden" the colors are amazing! The Midnight Masquerade/ Penstemon is the Bell of the ball, the way she dances gracefully is a pure delight! Heading to my garden center......again!!!!

I think between the Elderberry & the beach would be a perfect spot for some type of birdbath with a bubbler in it. It would give a water intrest with the benefit of giving the birds and pollinators a place for a drink on a hot summer day 🐦🐝🦋

For my afternoon sun pocket (4:30-7 pm zone 8b south Alabama) I had double impatiens by fiesta bonita (dark fuschia pink but called burgundy) last year and they surprisingly loved that spot. I accidentally planted them thinking the space was full shade with filtered light but I underestimated the tree canopy (also wind damage, removed a limb). They did great! And bloomed until December!!!!! I didn't even waste fertilizer on them because I was so sure I'd have to move them. They were so prolific even my 12 year old son who doesn't know the name of a single flower, commented: "wow, we need more of those!"

I always learn so much …this time it is about texture and color…I have been so focused on flowering plants and I knew the garden was missing something-now I know what to look for 💐

This is so refreshing to see and realizing it’s okay to just slowly add stuff to a space. We just built a few years ago on raw land and now that my baby is 3 I’ve been so overwhelmed trying to get a plan all together of where to start. Threw in some creeping phlox and hostas last year and that was it. Just going to slowly keep picking away. This is our forever home so I need to remind myself there is no rush.

This type of “color” video would be a great series.

Have you considered trying mounding juniper, or the Japanese Hakonechloa (s/p) grass either in front of the urns or in the sunny spots by the lambs ear. The juniper will tend do be a darker blue toned green which would look excellent with the lambs ear without getting too tall.

This is a perfectly timed video, I’ve been looking to add more purple leaves in to my garden. I just added a dark towers penstemon and a black snakeroot to my garden but I’m looking to put in a few more plants. Thanks as always for another amazing video.

West garden is coming along very nicely, Laura. Love the purple foliage plants and that gorgeous birch. Purple is my favorite. It really brings the garden to another level. Urns are looking beautiful already and will be fantastic when they flush out and flow over the sides. What a great look along the walkway. Arbs are looking a little disheveled. Is the wind pulling them apart? How can you resolve that? 😊💜

We planted 36 heucheras along a sloping driveway, stacked stone wall, and we get many compliments on them…we alternated silver gum drop and wild rose. We do have space in between to plant something else and I winter sowed some echinaceas but they are soooooo slow to grow! In the meantime, my daughter is giving me 20 berry chiffon coreopsis which I think will look good. I love to see your garden grow along with mine!
