Beautiful restored 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup - test drive in the middle of the Swiss Alps

6 ай бұрынIn this video we show you a completely restored 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pick up (Short Bed).
The car has a 235cui engine (Inline 6) and a 3-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is lowered with Superslide Springs, which significantly improves the appearance and driving behavior. Short test drive in the middle of the Swiss Alps.

You're absolutely right, it doesn't always have to be a V8.

Absolutely beautiful! Split exhaust manifold gives it a nice bark. Battery isolator switch inside the glove box maybe??? Something to watch for on the 235's is the upper end oiling of the valve rocker arms by that line with a restrictor orifice behind the lifter cover. The orifice can plug up over time with anything foreign or just sludge depriving the top end any lube.

Thank you for your feedback and the great input. You seem to have good experience on these Chevys, that's great. The restoration was a few years ago and there are still a few opportunities for improvement.

I’m running a 261 Stovebolt in my 49 Suburban. Pair of Carter carb’s / fenton header’s . Alternative to the v8 😊

Awesome car, the 49 Suburban. We love them too, but they are rarely seen here in Switzerland. You drive a great engine, it doesn't always have to be a V8!
