Both tracks are from his 1100 Bel Air Place. It was Julio’s first English-language album. He did several duets with well-known American artists as a way to make the album more accessible to an American (English speaking) audience. I had the cassette tape. I all but wore out the All of You track.

This broke me! My mum absolutely loved Julio Iglesias and played his music again and again. I'm 50 now but when my sister and I were kids she made us go to his concert in Brighton England, I was too young to appreciate him but remember being blown away by the full orchestra he had playing with him. She loved this duet too, I lost her this year and hearing his voice just brought back so many memories. Not many young people would react to a singer like him these days so thank you guy's 🥲 x

The song was written and recorded by Albert Hammond (one of the biggest songwrites who co-penned a lot of big hits with artists like The Hollies, Chris de Burgh, Tina Turner, Air Supply and many more as well as having a lot of hits by himself ) about 10 years earlier.

I remember this song (and liked it) but mostly remember if for the memorable performances of it where Johnny Carson, the Tonight Show host back in the '80s and '90s, did it with both Willie Nelson *or* Julio Iglesias. When he did the duet with Julio, Johnny dressed up as Willie, complete with braid, beard, and headband, and he actually wasn't bad as a singer. Given he'd been through several marriages, the "someone else's wife" line made everyone roar with laughter.

When I first heard about this duet, I just couldn’t see how their voice is with mesh. Julio‘s voice is so smooth and romantic and Willie Nelson his voice although it’s classic and easily identified it’s a bit nasally. But it just worked. It was a very popular song.

One of the things I miss the most about the 80's and that almost completely died away after them, is all of the collaborations that artists did. Some of the best music from the 80's were duets, and they were mostly love songs, which is another type of music that seems to have disappeared. Have you ever noticed the titles of songs from the 80's? Don't Stop Believing, What About Love, I Want To Know What Love Is, The Power Of Love, What's Love Got To Do With It. When you look at the titles of so many 80's songs, they were about love, or other powerful emotions, and it just doesn't seem like mainstream music reflects that anymore. It's pretty sad.

My Mom would wake us up Saturday mornings with her Julio album and a vacuum..now i have that album (1100 Bel Aire Place) Moonlight Lady is my Mom's "song" & Me Va is my favorite on that album!

The great comedian Johnny Carson did a satire of this song on his late night show with Julio Iglesias, and Johnny imitating Willie. Julio couldn't stop laughing. It was hilarious. Julio had an amazing album of covers released in 1990. Asking the great subs were "Vincent (Starry Starry Night," - "When I Need You", - Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa" - "99 Miles From L.A." and so many other great songs. Julio captured women's hearts back then with his suave, smooth voice and manners and of course many women found him very attractive with his latin flavor. He was a soccer player who got injured and was unable to continue the sport. Needing something to do with his life he decided to try singing. He became a legend!
