@@npardo1999 if we really believe that living people and living animals in a fairy tale are an advantage compared to cartoon ones (some people do), I would prefer _this_ version by Traci Hines and Nick Pitera as a remake instead of the movie with Emma Watson and the computerized Dan Stevens, if the Traci and Nick's video was a full-length film. There is more soul here, and there are interesting finds, and real trained wolves, and makeup. 😍😍

I know I've probably said this before but your dress in this video is beyond amazing. I also think that you and Nick look sooooo cute and incredible together as Belle and the Beast. Kaela Amour the dress in the movie specially designed for the dance scene, so it would flow freely and give a floaty feeling to it. But i agree, this dress is absolutely gorgeous.

Awwwwww! You're much too kind! I personally prefer a more literal nod to the animated Belle, with historical / period influence, which is why we went with a corset and lots of ruching...and of course that rose carpet addition haha! I couldn't help but go over the top with it-it's my favorite Disney dress so I wanted to do something special. Ever just the same...ever a surprise! Haha! I'm excited to see Emma's gown in the movie and see how it moves in the scene. It's not my personal taste, but that's why I loved getting the chance to try out my own version!

Does everyone comparing the dresses between this video and the one worn in the movie understand the story behind Emma's design? Don't get me wrong, Traci's dress is gorgeous, but Emma decided not to go with the corset because she feels Belle is a very active princess and and wouldn't want to wear a corset that would impede her in any way. I also think it serves as a great example for little girls to see a natural waistline rather than an exaggerated one. It's fine to prefer one style over the other. I personally find both to be beautiful in their own ways, but tryyy to not completely bash one over the other.

+Pixiequinncosplay "It's what madame wardrobe has to offer her." You're right that her choices are limited to what Madame Wardrobe has to offer. But just because your choices are limited, doesn't mean you can't decline one item. In both the animated film and the scene from the live-action that's available on KZfaq, Madame Wardrobe walks up to Belle, opens her drawers and says something along the lines of, "Let's see what I have." and pulls out a dress for her. I'm not sure about the live action yet but Belle ends up declining the dress in the animated version and refusing to go to dinner. So Belle can decline a dress and refuse to have dinner with the Beast, but she can't refuse to wear a corset? Really?

I'm not denying that Belle's dress isn't as intricate as what we saw in Cinderella and what we'd imagine a princess dress to look like, but I don't think it's terrible. I'm not a designer by all means, so my opinion may be flawed but I kind of like the simplicity in the dress. Plus think of how much easier would it be to replicate it for kids to wear as costumes? My point is you can prefer one over the other. But that doesn't mean you need to throw shade at the other.

While I get Emmas Watson´s point, the dress itself could look a little bit less ...modern? Like...it looks like a dress you could see in a gala. We are talking about xvi-xvii century...so why this plain dress? And again, I agree with Emma about Belle being a free spirit, practical and all that jazz, but! Fashion in that era was really specific and basically a must and a "everybody wants", people in that time were not that open minded as today, with this I mean that..for example. Today there could be a fashion, but you could look at it and say you dont like it and dont wear it. The past wasnt like that you know? They werent like tons of options, you only knew what was in front of you. So even is Belle has an specific character, imo, does not justify the fact of she not wearing a corset. Aaaaand that "for the girls thing" I dont know...honestly I have never heard a girl (and I have worked with girls several times) saying that they want the waist of this or that princess..they want the dress, the fairytale...not the body. Thats why you see white girls dressing as Tiana in disney, and viceversa. Its when they grow up that they "realize" this details. At one point in our lifes, we grow up and start seeing bad even in innocent things, but children dont. They only want to be the princess by "concept"... Hope neither of this comes as mean. In the end this is just my opinion and Im only one girl more in the internet.

Ashley Wang Kids costumes don't replicate live actions but rather animated films. Leave alone the French embroidery and fabric they could have used, even if they tried to make it a bit more disney like, it would have worked well. But lets not discuss much about the flaws, its just degrading the whole film.

Um, Traci and Nick, what the HECK?! This was truly SO beautiful! *sobs* And THAT DRESS!!!!!! Good lord, it BLOWS the one Emma Watson wears out of the water! It's literally the most beautiful thing!
