In our country (Philippines), I think we dont have specific beauty standards. As long as you are all natural, then you are considered beautiful. (based on my own opinion)

I'm African American and I find all people beautiful. You can look like Casper the ghost and I would still find something positive to like. As long as your a kind and sweet person that's attractive as well. I love Leo from Vixx and he is just perfection all around. Sweet, cute, sexy, and adorable with a beautiful voice that can open up the gates of heaven...sigh.. lol ok sorry but yeah I love all I'm open-minded.

If she's in a place that makes her feel like she's less than that's the best training ground to teach her to love herself outside of what anyone else's is saying... Not moving her to where everyone else says she's beautiful, she'll only love herself because people said so not cause of self acceptance ... In India, Some people likes fair skin, some tanned skin, some warm-golden or honey colored skin, and the hair has to be always black, regardless of whether they are curly or straight, and of Rapunzel length. they value deer-like or almond shaped eyes, black or dark brown iris, delicate eyelashes, (gets better when you are using eye-liner), angular nose (most of the Indians has it naturally). About the curves I have notices short and thin guys like curvy and voluptuous women, and tall and mascular guys like petite and moderately curved women. But an old stereotype is there that if the girl owns too much curves, she is unattractive. Face shape doesn't really quite matter as long you have good eyes and nose. Legs... no one gives a damn about thigh-gap as long as your leg is nicely shaped along with the waist..... In here it's about being properly proportional in your own ways, You can be beautiful in light, tanned, long, short, petite, curvy..... it's an endless possibility....

Here's a tip for girls...the second part applies as a general rule, not 100% of the time: Being called Pretty is always a much nice complament than being "hot" or "sexy". When a guy calls you pretty, it means that he sees you as just that, truely pretty. When he calls you sexy, or hot, it means he sees all the skin, and wants your body. He doesn't care about YOU, or who you really are--he's just distracted by your body...he's not thinking about you at all. Most of you are who read this will be like, "Well my guy must be the acception to this." To find out, ask yourself this: Does he ask you to dress skimpy when you go out? Has he ever called you pretty, or just hot or sexy? Does he try to get his his hands on you whenever he can, or does he give you proper space? How does he treat his family, and others in his life? Does he get jealous when you talk to other guys? If most of these come out on the negative side, you need to get away from him. I know from personal expirience that this will turn out super bad, and he could even get abusive.

In Germany beauty is not a fact you can calculate. In general you could say that slim curvy and feminine women with a slight note of coolness and swag and also masculine, tall and manly men are considered atrractive. But because we are a very multicultural country, people come in so many different ways. Some people like curvy girls, some like slim girls, you can be chubby, can have fair skin or dark skin or be tall or short or wear a strange kind of clothing. Doesn''t matter! As long you have a good and kind personality. And it's more about hygiene and looking healthy. Natural beauty is considered very beautiful and wearing too uch make up is not that popular (caution: opinions are different. It's just me saying that :D ) but the most important thing is aura. If you can hypnotize people with your beautiful, honest, energetic, kind, loving and sometimes crazy and weird aura you are a true beauty.

In the UK, our beauty standers are very similar to America. The US basically dominates our media so we see what they class as 'beautiful' on an everyday basis so it massively influences the younger generation here. Girls are expected to have a big butt, big boobs, a curvy figure (but a flat stomach, a small waist and large hips are desirable), tanned, tall and doesn't stand out from the crowd too much (basically if you dress differently and do your own thing, people will judge you HARD). Appearance is really important here like Korea and tbh, I feel sorry for the people who spend every hour of the day worrying about what they look like and wasting precious moments because they are afraid of society. Just do whatever makes you happy. If that means changing a few things about yourself then GO FOR IT BOO, YOU GOT DIS but only do it if it will make you truly happy. Don't do it for an idol, crush, friends or ANYONE. ONLY FOR YOU. (ARMY will always accept you btw

Beauty standards in African American culture are changing drastically. Chemically straightening the hair is losing some popularity (thank goodness). But a lot of women feel insecure about their naturally curly/kinky hair -- most (like me) start straightening as a really young age and have no idea what their natural hair texture looks like. Some older generations dislike the natural look because of the "good hair/ bad hair" mentality that's become so ingrained our culture. People have heard comments like "Oh, you're bf is gonna dump you" or "You look like a nappy slave" which really hurts... I've never experienced that kind of backlash though.

I'm from England and I find Korean and east Asian people highly attractive. From their style to mannerisms to the way they are to their personalities to their hair etc. Some people I know in real life from my area are so disrespectful and have nasty personalities which is plain ugly. I love flower boys/flower men. :) the right to determine what is beautiful is beyond any one person or culture :)

One of my favorite things about the usa is that there are so many different types and forms of beauty. Lupita N'yongo and Amy Adams look nothing alike but they're both still beautiful to us. I love that we don't have beauty standards, but we just have all kinds of beautiful people ranging from one end of the spectrum to the other. I love the diversity ❤️

I'm from Morocco , and I would say that Moroccans don't have a very perticular beauty standart but in general a curvy, gracefull and charismatic women is considered very attractive ,having a long hair as well is very popular we don't really care about skin or eye colour as much . we also say that real beauty is when the inside matches the outside or shine through :p

Beauty standards are both depressing and encouraging haha. When I was young, I HATED my eyes / eyelids. I was born with double eyelids but most of my friends had monolids and I wished I had them too. I thought having double eyelids was weird / bad until I got to college and I had a Korean roommate. One of the first things she said to me was that she was jealous of my double eyelids. And my boyfriend has a somewhat large nose for his family and he hates it so much but I think it really completes his face well and it looks really nice. Just goes to show that what you might think are flaws, other people might think as positive attributes :)

Prof Oh, you are really wow !!! I am from India. In India, there is lot of diversity so beauty standards differ in different communities. But preferrably, girls from Northern part of India are appreciated for their tall stature, long black hairs, chiselled features, fair complexion, smooth skin. But what is also appreciated that you should not be just dumb girl but should be able to carry yourself well during talking, walking and moving in society. If a girl is professional and not so beautiful is preferred as knowledge adds to beauty. Male Indians having tall stature, muscular body, sharp wit and humour are preferred. I have lot of Korean friends. What I like about Koreans is humility, respect for their elders, strong family tradition, worshipping their ancestors after visiting their village. Only problem I face in Korea is finding vegetarian food though my Korean friends help me in getting fresh food prepared for me by their wives.

In Ghana, having a gap between your teeth is considered beauty. Lately people have been getting skin lightening creams and having lighter skin/light hair is beautiful(which is sad, because that is just some self hate imo, but whatever makes you feel better) and curvy. Skinny like Victoria's secret model small isn't very good.

Aye! Being rotten inside ages ya faster anyway!!! The bitchier you are, especially for no reason, means more stress and we all know more stress equals MORE WRINKLES!!! Also, the more angry, the more elevated your heart rate so the more stress again which can lead to more stress and acne and also bad stress on the heart and heart attacks and other health issues and a lot of stress related issues can come with serious risks some that can cause massive hospitalization with factors that may make you just as ugly as you are on the inside due to recovery surgery, disfiguring plastic surgery, etc. Also, if most of your taunting goes towards taunting the disabled especially the ones with physical issues then you will be one of us and if you cannot handle it it will make it even worse!!! So people, JUST GROW UP AND LEARN TO LAUGH AND RELAX!!! THAT'S WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE LONGER!!! OH and be yourself!!! Unless, you are cruel and heartless as you will wind up in such positions as I just mentioned faster!!! If that's you WAKE UP, SHUT UP AND GET NICER!!! YOU WILL LIVE LONGER!!! i don't know any Beauty standarts of my Country tbh, I'm from Germany and well I think Germans are crazy for People with tan Skin and big eyes, big lips, for myself I prefer bright Skin, small eyes and a littlet thick lips... Maybe I'm too much into asia haha >~

I'm an Australian and where I'm from its considered pretty to have a "beach" kind of look. So a fit body with tanned skin and bleached hair. Normally blue eyes are really attractive but guys aren't too picky on eye colour. There is also something called the "gap" which is basically a space between the thighs that creates a gap. That's pretty much it. Being fit is a big part of where I live. For the guys, normally it's tanned skin/abs and broad shoulders. Once again they have bleached hair that is long but brushed over.

Wonderful vid, as always. ;3 If you don't mind, I'd like to request a video on basic grammar. I know that some words actually change sound depending on ending particles. I think it would also be very useful to have a sentence breakdown chart, showing how the sentence is structured in Korean versus English. I'm also curious as to how to define past, present, and future tense. (I'm sure this is too much for just one video.) Anyway, great job.

I’m pale af... that doesn’t work in my favor since when acne shows up it ends up as noticable as a tomato plopped on a bed of rice -_- The dark circles too... Big eyes also contribute to my horrible dry eyes (contacts killing me all the time) Dating someone who looks “exotic” is popular nowadays too right?

I had to watch this to class, and it made me cry. I recently started getting help from a counselor for my body image and self esteem. Thank you for this. I don't really know what to tell you about America's beauty standard, other than it is quite similar, tall, s-line, etc. The only difference I can see is American's tend to find either oval or round faces attractive instead of just oval faces.
