I think the cylindrical device in the rear next to the CRT is the OCXO.

Hi Justin. Thank you for your comment. Strange box: we did no further investigation, and the service manual is not available anywhere in this universe Found: I can't remember :-) :-D

It's a Curtis elapsed time indicator; in electrical terms it's actually a coulometer as it measures charge flow rather than time, but with the correct current flow it inicates elapsed time in hours.
