Not gonna lie, I got emotional with the heartbeat! After two miscarriages last year, I’m 10 weeks pregnant right now and definitely cried when my ultrasound tech showed us the heartbeat this time around 🥰 Amazing video as always!

Okay, so the first “midwife Nicola” series came out in 2020 when I was pregnant with my baby and it was a huge help in keeping me relaxed through my rough trimesters. This new “midwife Nicola” video debuted on my baby’s first birthday and I was SOOOO excited to see it! I fell asleep almost instantly the first time I saw it but now I’m watching the latter part and its so sweet I’m nearly weeping as if I’m at the midwife in real life. The first listen to baby in the womb is my absolute favorite thing ever in the history of favorite things. Thank you for your work it’s so loved and appreciated! 🥺🖤

This is a very satisfying change of pace from my pregnancy experiences😅 In both of my pregnancies I don't remember ever visiting the midwife (before giving birth) where I was not sick mid appointment. 😂 severe Hyperemesis gravidarum is no joke! Practically lived in the hospital

Nobody asked, but here I go. Unfortunately, in Brazil C-sections are a huge business. Only rich people can afford some private care with something similar to a midwife. And even insurance companies, not only the public system, push to this kind of delivery. We hold the second highest C-section rates in the world. My mom was not asked, the doctor just decided for a C-section from the start and she had never been taught to argue. She got a horrible infection in the hospital and could not breast feed me, relatives took care of me while she remained there. I had many -itis issues as a baby and there are studies connecting this to not having gone through the natural way, plus the lack of breast feeding (baby does not get all the immune defenses as they should).
