BTS are those rare artists where the majority of their songs sound better live than studio version. And that says a lot. I think it’s because lives let their authenticity and passion shine whereas studio versions are too…”perfect”. Bts makes it a point to always sing live. They use a backing track, but u can always hear their breathing and little shakes here and there and they change things up during different performances. After discovering BTS, I’m always questioning if other artists are lip syncing coz there’s no way u can’t hear their breathing at least once in the whole performance

I’m not sure if you follow other K-pop groups, but I do follow few of them. My favs are BTS ,Seventeen and Stray Kids. They all can sing live just great as their records. You should check them out. I don’t watch the K-pop girls tho, they are just not my cup of tea. 😊

@@siskatan642 I used to listen to bigbang over a decade ago. then only started paying attention to k-pop again about 2 years ago. At first it was casually to BP because my male friends liked them for their looks. but i only listened to them when my friends played their songs while we hung out. Then my cousin came to live with me and she was ARMY. I made fun of her at first, but learned that they were the biggest group, so being into business, i wanted to check them out and see what made them so special, and how that info can help me in my own business affairs. To be fair, i also started looking into other groups as well such ask stray kids, seventeen, red velvet, (g)idle, new jeans, etc, etc just to name a few. I wanted to make sure i was being unbiased and objective. And i'm usually the type of person that hates jumping on bandwagons and would argue against the top or best thing at the moment. No hate, but i agree with you that girl groups arent' really my thing. I think they focus too much on either trying to be cute or sexy with a lack of interesting lyrics and the dancing is always kinda the same. Funny enough, when it comes to vocalists, female vocalists are usually my favourite, but maybe it's the K-pop industry, makes girl groups sing in a certain way that doesn't sit well with me. makes them sound squeaky. I'm sure individually they sound amazing as soloists, but in a group setting, it's just not my cup of tea. now back to bts and other boy groups. In the early stages of my dabbling into all of them at the same time, I thought Straykids was better. Their songs were more catchy with interesting beats. And from an aesthetics point of view, i thought SuperM and seventeen were better because they were more masculine. These observations were from a preliminary, surface level point of view just by watching their music videos. But as i started to learn more about each group as well as i started watching their live performances, BTS just took over. They were the only ones that were able to touch my heart and soul. Mind you, i am not a teenager, i am an established professional and only entered this whole thing "for science" never expecting to become some fangirl. To circle back to live performances, in my humble opinion, BTS is just different. Their energy level, passion, love for music, story telling, and artistry just shines through. Quite honestly, a lot of other groups use a lot of smoke and mirrors to make their performances look cool, but it's not the members themselves that make the performance stand-out. the energy level is also not on the same level. There is no doubt that they are good dancers and good singers, but they weren't able to go deeper than that. i have a playlist on YT just on BTS lives, because i crave listening and watching them live. I rarely do that for other artists. I usually just listen to their studio recordings. unless i'm listening to pure vocalists, like opera or classical musicians, theatre vocalists, or like live rock bands. BTS has now set a standard for live performances. Looking forward to seeing more and more artists strive to get to that level. Music in the last decade really hasn't been cutting it. Not bashing on other groups, just saying BTS snuck in and snatched my heart.

I've read many times how bts concert goers say Jimin's vocals live is even more ethereal, and his stage presence too. @@becauseisaac I get what you mean. It's supposed to be like that. Most of the army and BTS themselves see BTSs English songs like the pilot episode of a great TV show.. its just the setup to the whole show and gives only a tiny taste for what the show is actually about. The audience who have patience to get through it, get to experience the best of the show. The others who are the wrong audience get filtered out with that 1st episode. I remember RM expressing his dissapointment in a vlog after Dynamite went No1 in America. He questioned his entire perception of music... do bts really have to dumb down their complex music themes for it to reach the masses in the west? Later on BTS realised the English trilogy are a great attractor and filter for a new audience... and that's what those songs are.

@@ralphy383 To other artists be it in the West or Kpop groups, I see them as American cartoons like SpongeBob or Tom & Jerry. All you need to know is to know the names of characters, small background of what they're about, etc. And you can enjoy their songs or albums no matter what episode you choose, cause the story starts when the song starts & ends when it ends, basically their discography doesn't really connect, the albums & concepts too, so it's very reasonable to check out their most popular songs cause it's obviously their best work. But that doesn't work with BTS. Cause BTS is like a very old anime (JAPANESE CARTOON) that gets better over time. You're not supposed to watch them like American cartoons. And that was my mistake when checking them out, at first, I couldn't understand what makes them special, I mean they're like any other kpop groups I've seen, except that their Korean MV's get stuck in my head & their songs are quite toleratable compared to other kpop groups. And when I checked out their other unpopular songs that had no MV's, I fell in the rabbit hole. They have lots of b-sides that I've downloaded, which had never happened before, cause I never downloaded songs before. And when I came across English translations & explanation vids, that's when I got really hooked cause their songs are actually quite deep & mean something. That's also when I realized that they actually write their songs & mean what they've said cause there's no way it's written by another person. Months later, it dawned upon me that their songs actually have a narrative that connects to their other songs. Their songs including their album are like a piece of a puzzle. And you must see the bigger picture to even begin to understand it. Basically, you need to react to BTS albums from the start to end like Love Yourself series, to understand it. Also their popular songs don't mean their best work, it could even be the opposite. Afterwards, I started to feel bad that BTS seemed "OVERRATED" due to their English singles that they didn't even write. And the reason those songs are popular is because it's in English and the Western Industry gave them radiospins since it's also written by Western writers 🤦. While BTS real songs written by themselves still get zero radiospins. Basically BTS gets so much hate for being "Overrated" when they're so UNDERRATED as f.

It’s been fun watching your evolution into BTS. I’ll list all of the members. You seem to have gotten RM down. He’s is the leader and main rapper. Main is highest, lead is right under main. Purple hair and Mic is Jung Kook (main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper), blonde with the unique voice is Jimin (lead vocalist, main dancer along with JHope), vocalist in plaid jacket is Jin (oldest, visual, vocalist), the one in green doing the cute dance is V (or Tae - vocalist, lead dancer), the blonde rapper that’s not RM is J-Hope (main dancer, dance leader, rapper), and last, but definitely not least (there is no least when it comes to BTS 😊) is Suga (aka Agust D) (main rapper, main producer). I’m honestly not sure if Suga’s “official” title is main rapper or not. I’ve seen him listed differently on different channels, but at this point of their careers I’m not sure that the main and lead titles even matter. They have all developed into great singer and dancers.

Festa Room Live is a useful place to start, but the real deal is to see them live in front of an audience. BTS really knows how to interact with the crowd, or as RM says get them hyped up. I recommend you watch On Kinetic Manifesto next, to get you completely hooked. Or any live performance version of So What.

I dont think anyone would argue with me that their best is done live. It became quite evident during Covid when their tour was canceled and they did special music videos for ARMY. But they all said it wasnt the same without the crowd feedback. They thrive in front of a crowd! 💜

Jimin is a counter tenor. His voice is indeed amazing. The one in green dancing at the back is V. He is the baritone but has the greatest vocal range. His range is insanely massive. Check out his song Stigma live to see his range showcased. Purple mic and hair is Jungkook, the youngest brother and the main vocalist. Green jacket vocalist is Jin, oldest member with the bell like voice and breathy, emotional delivery. RM you know, j-hope had the hat on and Suga, the other rapper, is in the dark plaid jacket. I'm partial to j-hope but they are all amazing.

One of the amazing things about BTS is just how contagious their "having fun" is. You can't help but smile. And yes I love "Run" the song as well. I am glad you gave them another chance and have kept an open mind. (My husband and I have seen them live in concert in Las Vegas and also saw Suga's concert last year and they were incredible - in our top concerts we've attended ever. They can hold 60k people in the palm of their hand for 3 hours. And we have seen pretty much "everyone" live in concert (Bowie/Green Day/Gaga/U2/Elton John/Melissa Etheridge /Santana/Willie Nelson - ok I could keep going but) because we are very old. If you want more live perf in addition to the Tiny Desk's with V and RM, there is one with all 7 of them. Also the MicDrop to RunBTS opening of the Yet to Come Busan concert is great. You would be looking for the Bangtan Bomb for the 2 songs together on the BangtanTV channel. Yet to Come from Proof Live is another one - with Anderson Paak on the drums. All of those have visible live bands (so you can see the drummer :)

One of the reasons I fell in love with them was their goofiness outside of the stage. They look super cool dancing and singing but they are just goofy guys at their core♥ Thank you for reacting to this! No worries about remembering the names. Not everyone needs to be as obsessed with them as Army lol Take your time, the important thing is that you actually care about them. Have a lovely day!

LOL, I think Jimin was holding it that way that one time due to the name of the song being Pied Piper. Also, I love UGH live, its so goooodddddd! This is one of the many compilations I watch when I need a pick up mood day. Glad you're enjoying them! I discovered them in 2020 when isolated during covid, they kept me smiling, keep my mental health up, and I grew to love them more and more every day with the music and their variety show. Army always and forever.

There’s no choreo of any kind for stuff like this lol they do it all the time and have been for so long.. they run the show lol the natural interactions are authentic to BTS… now if it’s a concert they of course have planned talking points and stuff like that… but if it’s not choreographed then it’s always different… the medleys are always different for this reason… it’s so so so good!! I think the “bangtan lives” channel has the medleys… mYou’ll be so stoked you watch this… guarantee! Or the “enjoy BTS more” channel bc they post all live songs. It’s the BTS medley that has songs dope, baepsae, fire and IDOL. Youll love it . There’s different medleys so just make sure these songs are in the title if you want to be blown away

I would call em remix versions) No more dream Danger I need you Fire Save me Fake love

Thank you for the great reaction! Personally, I think they are even better live than in the studio, they really come alive when performing for an audience. You mentioned liking hearing their band along with their live vocals, I think you might enjoy their 2020 Tiny Desk concert or their 2022 Proof Live. As for the "going hard", I highly recommend Mic Drop & Run BTS at their free Busan concert (it was their last performance together before the hiatus).
