Awesome knife man. I like mine a lot. I really dig the way you made the lanyard. I just put a long snake knot on mine but may change it now after seeing yours. I done a strip and hand sanded all the tooling marks away up to a 3000 grit and polished to a mirror finish. I applied Frog Lube to mine and it want rust plus it's food safe as well. You should try that one bro. I have a Valhalla Custom kydex sheath for mine too (pancake style) good sheath and not to pricey. Got mine for $45 bucks though also got one for my BK9 too at the same price. He cut me a good price on mine from eBay. He's a good dude. Great video man and give that Frog Lube a try. Oh yeah! If you like the BK7 you'd love the BK9 give that a try as well.

That knife will serve you for years. My favorite camp knife got stolen when I took my truck in to the shop to be worked on. I forgot to take the knife out from under the seat. I bought it when I was a teenager.

That's a real shame. Ah, well. I guess things happen. I wish people treated others as they would have themselves treated.

If you live in a wet or humid environment I would recommend not removing the protective coating. The gain you get from the blade being smoother versus the very high potential the blade is going to rust isn't worth the trade off IMHO

I was intrigued by the olive oil, but mineral oil is better. Other vegetable type oils will become rancid over time. The mineral oil will not and it is food safe.

Lou - Thanks for the tip. Good to know! It is annoying to deal with olive oil when it goes rancid.
