I first became politically active in college (spring 2000). I was holding meetings, rally's, etc before I could legally buy my own cigarettes, much less a beer (good thing I grew up in New Orleans). This clip totally sums up my entire political career which began with me holding up an Al Gore sign in the shadow of the statue of Andy Jackson in the French Quarter, and ended where Sherman's March to the Sea began, in Northwest Georgia. I was once a local party representative for the State of GA, and ran a hopeless state representative campaign to elect a great man who was unelectable in the Bible belt by way of his own party affiliation. This is how I feel about voting and politics now, Becker thinking to himself, "Damnitt, now what am I gonna do to fix all of this? I didn't even want to COME HERE!!" Dr. John Becker is my spirit animal.

Tell that to a nation that has a president that outright lies to them about voting options. TheNerdling I do not understand, is your anger at me or the failure of the country to live up to its ideals? I hold that those you mention are having their rights illegally taken. The only exception to your list I perhaps would make is genuine murderers. Someone who kills a voter does not get to vote being the idea. As to the rest their right are being abridged and it is the shame of our nation that it has gone on as long as it has. Telling the people that are being disenfranchised does nothing. Holding those in the positions of power accountable is what makes the difference. The rights are unalienable ,but keeping them well exercised takes vigilance .

Though it does kind of ignore the fact no amount of taxes would let the government run smoothly. The problem isn't money taken in, it's how it's spent. How many times Officials vote to raise their own salaries or various other kick backs and grafts they have in the works. Simply put you could give a school 10 billion dollars and still find they some home don't have enough money to get text books. All because some government official gave the book contract to a "friend" in where each book cost $5000 or something.

How does cutting taxes increase tax revenue and where did you read that?
@no-bozos8 ай бұрын
@@tomnewham1269 - Kennedy was the first president to propose tax cuts to increase tax revenue. His assertion was that lowering tax rates will increase economic activity. Increases in economic activity raises the rate of monetary exchange as companies spend said tax savings on expansion and employee salaries. It worked, and the federal government saw enough tax revenue increases to pay for the moon landing program. Every single time the federal government lowers tax rates tax revenues increase. EVERY SINGLE TIME. My sources are from the federal government revenue reports and the corresponding bills that were passed at the time. Someone didn't have to explain it to me like I was a grammar school child. Look up Kennedy-Johnson Revenue Act of 1964. Kennedy made that speech in 1963 before he was assassinated.

@charleshodgdon6168 Жыл бұрын
Incorrect. It only hurts areas in which the bureaucrats line their pockets. When the federal taxes were cut under Trump, businesses opened and came back to the US. This led to more state and/or local taxes collected. Don't listen to people like AOC. She convinced people to protest Amazon opening in New York. Then Amazon pulled out which included no new jobs. Then AOC claimed that New York now had millions of dollars to spend on other stuff. Those millions were not money given to Amazon. It was an initial tax break.
