Alvin Epstein (1924-2018) as Lucky -- the phenomenal solilioquy!

Saw him several times at the Harold Clurman / Samuel Beckett theater in NYC in Endgame, and I think a few other things. He and Billie Whitelaw were the best Beckett actors. But this is the best recording of Godot.

why is this audio version different from my script? Which is the original?
@bratdfortd5 жыл бұрын
Karoline Jørgensen it was written in french, the translation is different depending on who translated it
@steveh72465 жыл бұрын
@@bratdfortd I thought Beckett himself translated the play into his native tongue.
@BrettOwen713 жыл бұрын
@@steveh7246 He did. This version is indeed rather loose.

how is it possible for this play to be terrifying and boring at the same time. i hate it its soo weird
11:08 Can anyone explain what he is saying instead of "We'd get erections"? I'm assuming it isn't a direct translation?

it is reportedly one of the effects on men when they are hanged. the dialog that follows refers to the myth that a hanged man's seed spilled on the ground would cause mandrake to grow.
