You could play CB in MLS, especially in a back 3. You’re still quick enough, positioning is solid, height/strength is adequate, and most importantly you don’t make bad decisions.

Hey Matt, do you think that getting experience at CB will help extend your playing career? Presumably as you get older your physical abilities may decrease and having that ability to play in a more protected role at CB might allow you to play longer.

Absolutely. Center backs control betting earnings for the owner. That's why center backs have the longest careers.

I think it's great to have a CB that knows how to play offensive against a team with high pressure on defenders, that's their weak spot, if one defender gets going with the ball with good individual skills it would break their game and outnumber them in a fast counter-attack. Like at 17:35, IMO you should have sprinted with confidence with the ball outnumbering their team giving your team a strong attack on that play.

USL is a good league because their players are very athletic. The biggest difference I see between the USL and leagues in Europe is the style of play. The teams in the US are predictable and players are easier to mark because they are strict in their tactics.

the attacker has huge advantage, I don't think there's much the defender can do. I would hold and delay but get ready to dive in when the attacker makes the pass. sometimes the attacker just fake the pass and carry the ball forward then I would lose my position.

Hi Matt, started to watch your channel as my son plays for an NAIA college team out of Henderson TN. I know you must get asked this a lot so I do apologise. I would love your feedback on him to see if he could have some potential in the future. You can be brutally honest with me. He wears no: 15 and is central mid-field player.
