You should've use the boat strategy (for those of you who don't know what that is its when you trap a mob or in this case a demon/demon slayer in the boat so you can't hit him off the edge)

btw troy i have played a lot of skyblock and you want to turn your planks into half slabs cuz for 3 planks u get 6 slabs so for every log u get, u essentially get 6 platforms instead of 4

You can use that ting that You can put saplings inn to make bonemeal then make grass then wheat farm then bread.
