I'm Anna Bea and I'm a social worker in Atlanta working in a clinical setting with incarcerated youth. I'm a big social work gal & received my BSW from the University of Alabama in 2021 and my MSW from Fordham University in 2022. I got my LMSW! Congratulations, Anna!! Passing the LMSW exam is such an amazing feeling. You worked so hard for this success. I remember I was so nervous that I almost threw up in the parking lot of the testing center LOL So impressed how calm and cool you were!

@@AnnaBea hi Anna please call me jackie i keep thinking i did something and you are upset with me, lol i don't think you remember i told you so many times that you have been such an inspiration in this field but I also had to change my degree. B/c they were showing me no emapthay as a veteran it has been the first time in my life that i wish i would have return from war with missing limbs bc then you can and would see my disabilitieas. My point is that my are unseen disabilities but when i sit with you and i tell you what i am going thru and the type of help i may need then they no longer are unseen to the instructors lol boy Anna i have given you a book here but yet then again you might not have to go the library to pick up a book this week bc i have been kind and sent you one lol. now i am persueing a Masters in Counseling and is all online and i just remember while you were in grad school doing so good with your online work, i am going to Southern New Hampshire University. sending you love and lite keep it real missy and i think you are outstanding, this 55 yr young femaleI have learned so much from you.

Hi Lina! I just happened to read your comment and wanted to stop by to say that I feel like it’s normal to have mixed feelings about being a SW. I just started my social work series and I talk about how I went into my MSW program having a goal in mind regarding what I wanted to do.. but then totally disregarding that and taking a different path. The thing about the field is that there are lots of options! Just remember why you wanted to pursue SW to begin with. Best of luck!

Congrats! You are so much fun to follow! I just started a mental health counseling program, but have some experience in case management where all my coworkers were MSW's. Are you now able to do therapy independently? Or do you need to accumulate more hours over several years to do that?

thank you!! & I wrote half of one but then couldn’t remember the rest so didn’t actually use it 😅😅 I only really studied those a day before so didn’t rely on them too much. Savvy Social Worker’s breakdown videos were the approach I used for most questions!

Congratulations on passing the exam! What if you only get your bsw? Can you be a licensed sw? Or is this only if you go through the msw program.? Did you have financial aid or did you go through loans? What jobs can you get with just a bsw?

I took this god awful exam 3x and failed . Studied my head off and still failed. Majority questions put you in a position to guess instead of testing your knowledge. I hate this shit test with a passion
