It's pretty common to see a fuse box close to the front door, especially in newer apartments. And regarding the red and green, the red warns that the fuse is live so it's dangerous to mess it with while the green indicates that it's off so it's safe to work with it.

As an electrician this video quickly went from video to podcast, because this made me twitchy every time I knew he hadn't switched off the power. This is the POW of someone doing home improvements without most of the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the job. It sounded like Drae improved during the video, that's a plus. The mandatory pulling all screws out of the sockets and switches wasn't correct to IRL in my opinion, but probably better in a gameplay sense. If you have loose screws when doing the connections on an electric unit IRL, you're either doing it wrong or working on an exceptionally cheap piece of hardware. Drae gets an B for effort because of the number of unfriendly reminders he got. With the right personal protection equipment Drae wouldn't be shocked so many times, correctly insulated shoes should have helped in a lot of the cases. Racks up a solid D for execution, because he tried to off himself more often than not. That leaves the improvement grade and I'll give Drae a solid B his improvements during the episode. Better luck with the next episode and enjoy the clear C grade for your efforts here. I'm intrigued to see where they're going with this game and I can mentally prepare for Drae's self-inflicted suicide attempts now that I've seen what I'm heading into. Take care and stay safe, electricity isn't a toy.

6:18 In norway we have a small extra "switch" on our fuses so if it detects that the PE(earth) gets powered it'll switch off the fuse so its a way to make the electrical safer (to all electricians who'll read this, i know i dont use the correct termology, but its a simplified way of saying it)

As a former EIM and TLIM student (Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Transmission Line Installation and Maintenance) this is quite accurate for a demo such as wiring connection and placement of circuit breakers/fuse boxes. Wondering why the electrician dosen't have gloves for protection from electrocution, having only a flat screwdriver when they should have both Cross and flat (though maybe not since a lot of screws have both holes) and maybe a multitester. Though it's still just a demo so it can still change👌 Also, I get a bit angry at people telling me to fix broken appliances when my study is to just install, fix and maintain electrical fittings and connections. Not fix appliances, that's an Electronics specialist job. Bruh I talk long😅😅 Anyways how was your day✌️🤣

A carbon monoxide detector is worth $15-20, however I found a bundle of 36 detectors for $525. I think the devs didn't do a lot of research into pricing, not that it matters because it's just a game.

To answer your question what happens when you connect an outlet the wrong way, that depends which cables you connect where. The line (L, brown) and neutral (N, blue) could be swiched up and devices would still work. The third cable in the middle is protective earth (PE, yellow in game but afaik it should be yellow and green striped) which is connected to the metal chassis if the device you plug in has one (a washing machine for example. The idea behind this is that if your device malfunctions and puts some load on the metal case, it can flow off through protective earth and trigger a residual current device which will then turn the power off. If you were to connect the wrong wire to that terminal you'd end up with voltage on the case of your device, giving you a shock when you touch it

OK I have to say something about this lol but when he misunderstood the /buttery battery situation I was tickled but then I was even more tickled when he said buurrried when he accidentally found the fuse for the fuse box in the plant room. That was just too dang funny!

As someone who has done electrical work they should show the really hard part...putting the flashlight in your mouth, while standing in a ladder and installing a light fixture while the whole thing is balanced askance off your shoulder or head while figuring out why your wire lead screws aren't holding the wire correctly...

4:30 That is actually a pretty simple retro controller. Just an SAMD32 and an USB type C is all that's needed (of course, you also need the board, the case and the buttons, but that's obvious)

I must say, this simulator seems pretty accurate from the switches only have 2 wires for both power. To the outlet that has 3 wires for the power, neutral and ground. I dont know the colour coding for the wires are in the game, but typically for my country red is live, blue is neutral and green is ground.

6:10 what would happen if you put the wires in the wrong hole basically it shouldn't short circuit the yellow wire in either side holes would just cancel out what ever electricity is in the socket and the blue or red wire in the middle hole would make the frame electrified and finally if you were to switch the red and blue wire the switch would work just fine but it's just commonly placed red, yellow and blue

As an electrician I don't think this game was made by an electrician

in electric green means that it's safe(no current) and red not safe. It's logical

um no putting the wrong wires on a plug wont fry the plug (unless you put hot to ground) it will fry whatever you plug into it and maybe start burning depends on what the device is and what protections are installed in it
