Over the summer, Becoming Wild--presented by Toyota--spent some time in Tampa, Florida as Pat Maroon prepared for his next chapter in Minnesota. His summer regimen includes time on the ice and time in the gym, but its the time with family and friends off the ice that he cherishes most.

In a recent podcast interview he confessed he left Tampa because it’s literally the worst place in the world to live. Something about crack and hookers and carjackings and ghettos.

Great show. As a Canadian Leaf fan, I always thought Maroon was a dirty player but I had respect for him. Having watched this I must say Patty is a solid guy, I’m impressed.

What a champion of a human being. Always been a Pat Maroon fan. Success breeds success. Winners win more than just games. They win arguments, they win battles that would break most people, they win peoples hearts over. Pat's a straight up legend.

Blues fan here. Him scoring that OT goal v Dallas is hands down in the top three moments for this franchise. Loved having Patty here.

Glad to have Pat on the team, I know it's probably not his ideal location, but hope he enjoys his time up north, and he'll be a great mentor for the younger guys.

Aww, I like it when the show goes into their childhood, speaks with the parents and siblings, old coaches, etc. Maybe timing wasn't there for Pat's fam. Good luck in Mini!

As an Edmonton Oilers fan I liked Pat Maroon, the gentle giant. Was sad to see him go to St Louis.

Saw Pat play as a young guy in the AHL. (Hershey Bears Season Ticket Holder here with seats right beside the visitor's tunnel/behind the visitor's bench. Phantoms were our biggest rivals along with the baby Pens ) Think he pretty much got the shaft from the Flyers organization. Even as a young guy, he was so much more than a pair of fists. Always thought he was a much better player than he ever got credit for. Was glad for him having so much success in St. Louis and Tampa -- winning 3 cups. He's that kinda guy you just wish would be on your team someday. Not sure how I missed this video earlier this season, but since MN didn't make the playoffs, he was able to get a trade to Boston to continue playing in the post season. Yay! He wasn't able to play right away, as he had just had black surgery. Even though Boston just lost the 2nd round series to Florida & I wish the Bs would've gone farther, I'm grateful I got to cheer for him in the spoked B. Not sure what the future holds for Patty, but I wish him (and his family) all the best.
