A distinguished name in the Nepali rap industry, Balen is a man who leveled up Nephop game with his extraordinary rapping style and title of Second season of the Raw Barz. Structural engineer by profession but social activist by heart, he has worked on post-earthquake reconstructions and damage assessment programs all over Nepal. Creating beat-busting songs like “Marpha Ko Madira” and “Local Thito” is only the musician side of him and now he has announced his candidacy for the Mayor of Kathmandu. In this episode of On Air, we talk with him about his run for contributions to the society, Mayor, Raw Barz & Nephop, his past projects and many more.

Let's emphasize the fact that Sanjay's a heck of an interviewer. Like Rogan, he interrogated immediately and deliberately when Balen's points weren't explicit. When Balen didn't feel the focus of the subject, Sanjay immediately changes it. He tries to makes the input less vague for the viewers. Honestly, the best podcast of Nepal.

The way he have analyzed each and every details of Kathmandu, It's amazing. Listening to his visions and plans in every sector, he is a perfect candidate for the post. Being a Newar I can confidently say that he will be a lot better candidate of mayor than present Newar mayor. He is more of a Newar than some Newar themselve. He could definitely change something.

After living in Australia for many years I always had the similar conception in my mind - why can't we follow the basis of a foreign land? Although, I carry a lot in my head, I never expected Balen to come over and work on these thoughts. We surely can make Nepal a peaceful and beautiful country - and can convert into a tourism hub ad it has a lot to offer. I am sure people like me and people all over the world can share their thoughts, ideas that they have witnessed throughout their lifetime. His ideas on #Health are worth considering: 1:16:16 Ambulances 1:17:07 Call (coordination) centre for Emergency Medical Service/EMS (Ambulance and Emergency service) 1:17:39 Ward/Urban Health Clinic (strengthening primary healthcare, how to make it effective) 1:18:18 Electronic/Digital Medical Record Keeping System 1:19:09 Ayurvedic medicine 1:20:27 Health Tourism + Besides, he also talks of health promotion and disease prevention (education, sports, arts, cycling, waste management, transportation, corruption control, etc.). 👍

this is my first time I have watched and listened this long interview and I didn’t get a single second bored and Sanjay g ur broadcast brought so many thoughts and things that people need to understand and act in our life. Maybe Nepal school did not gave good education but ur program have that place to learn so many things and I personally loved ur show… listening from 🇦🇺

This is my first comment ever in youtube….. I was almost covered with full of darkness for the hope of my country to move forward towards progress but after listening to this podcast my eyes were covered by tears and i can see my country will definitely rise again….. I don’t know much about you @balen but your sayings, research and the way you think made me the fan of yours…. My fellow " Youths" watching this video (especially from Kathmandu) please show this video to your parents.Just Sit with them and watch this whole podcast. It doesn't matter Kun party ko ho this or that ,the only thing that matters is Vision,we need visionary people right now. Kathmandu really needs it . Now I'm a sub Urban kid and I've been to Kathmandu and God the city is dreadful,the pollution,the living cost and everything.We need people who can change it. "Youth is the only Hope"

After 1 year i can assure that Kathmandu improved by 60%. Tyo Baneshowr Boudha ra Baagbazar ko baato hidinasaknu thiyo and compare it now. Still a lot of things to be implented. Hope he carries on doing the phenomenal work he has been doing.

I never thought that i would listen to 2 hour 20 min podcast. Every thing that you have told makes so much sense. From traffic management to corruption, preserving culture to attracting tourism, teaching modality to history, sports, drainage management, etc etc etc. You killed the talk with every possible solution dai.
