Frieza underestimates SSJ Goku's power and the unexpected ending...
Champa, Beerus' brother and the God of Destruction of Universe 6, convinces Beerus to hold a tournament between the best fighters from their universes. The reward for the winner is the Super Dragon Balls, planet-sized Dragon Balls with nearly unlimited wish-granting abilities. Champa intends to swap Universe 6's barren Earth with Universe 7's for their cuisine. Goku and his friends join the tournament. The tournament reaches its climax in a match between Goku and Hit. Unable to fight Hit at full power, Goku forfeits the match. Hit forfeits the final match, and Universe 7 wins. Beerus secretly wishes for the Super Dragon Balls to restore Universe 6's Earth.

Gohan stopped training after the Buu saga, so his body got very weak over time. He couldn't command that same power anymore. Frieza got exponentially powerful after training. This is why Gohan got massacred in this battle.

I swear tgere idn't a single time in z and the even worse gt were it actually feeled they were trying with all they had,heck we had stuff like earthlings that were supposed to train together for 1 years with some convenient out of nowhere new training of kami(which to work ot should mean he could slapped and sealed away the 2 piccolos and defeated raditz like nothing... ),but instead they train only for 6 months and then separate cause...uhh....who get hit first drama?

Frieza never trained before because he was always so much stronger than everyone else so it makes sense that he would catch up super quick in 4 months of training. As for the others, the manga had Roshi beating up Jiren so I'm with you.

I'm sorry, but Piccolo was able to fight both Imperfect Cell and C-17, even beating the first decisively. That automatically puts him above Frieza at any level during DBZ. And now he gets wiped by some grunt in the Frieza force?? DBZ's powerscaling was never perfect, but now it's just completely broken.

do you have some sort of short-term memory loss? this "grunt" was frieza's training partner, so of course he had to keep up with frieza or else he'd be dead. that's how he got as strong as we saw in this arc.

If some training was enough for the average guy to exceed powerful beings like Cell and Buu then there wouldn't really be much of a point to any villain, would there now?

Frieza is an abnormal mutant so his quick increase in power is believable, but not some random Frieza Force member. Aww,look all people try to insult Super cause of drawings and "logic".... Which alone tell what they really feel about z cause there's no way they could stand the horrible drawings and choreography of z that made everything feel like watching two ballons throwed at each other! Or it's writing where goku suddenly fight like the worst amateur ever cause the writer doesn't know how to avoid him defeating frieza in one hit with kaioken(oh,right it suddenly become "invisible") Or stuff like we need to make goku and gohan the only one fightning cell so piccolo and trunks that could reach a even higher level instead of training together in the chamber they waste a whole year all alone by themself punching air for no real reason(yes,it seriously happen)! Even in the super flashbacks alone seeing frieza getting beaten by "i'm really angry" but against vegeta,when he was,as they told as,a Henchman,goku needed to use a Divine power feel ridiculous! I'd rather rewatch gyniu-tagoma victory pose on 10 hours loop than rewatching any of that! Thank goodness now we had the wonderful anime of Super!
