I love your videos. I look so forward to Sundays. You are so talented. I don’t know what style I like best but I would do a couple of things differently. (But it takes all kinds to make the world go round). If you keep the lamps, spray paint them black. Don’t care for the art above the bed. Seems 3or5pieces if art would look more balanced. Or you could put back the previous art you had above your bed. Thanks for all you teach me.

@@EJH989 Let me say first that I agree I don’t think the art is jiving too well in the room. But that’s because I don’t think the art is very interesting for said room. However as an art lover, I have to disagree on the rule of “you must have similar wall art throughout the house.” Interior design has rules to create successful styling for a novice designer but those rules can and will be broken by a well trained eye. I personally like lived in bohemian styles that represent collected pieces while not necessarily represent the same era or culture. It narrates a personal story that’s unique and relevant to my tastes. It’s my preference and not many will agree (your opinion is your opinion) but let me say great style is not defined just by putting similar pieces together to create a look. Look at Kelly Wearstler. She is queen of color and pulling looks many are too afraid to go on their own. I had to say that because I always see comments like this and it makes me sad inside for those who love art and interior design as much as I do. So let me say you can have a beautiful house with different art as long as there is an established structure and look throughout your home.

Hilas B yes a third for sure but...sorry but the art she made is awful! too contemporary for those dated hotel lamps and the night stands. i think what she had was much better! As a Designer I’d be taking it all out! 🤷🏻‍♀️. Was great why mess w it? I get the sense she is addicted literally to constantly changing decor? Never ending changes. Kinda sad.

@@Dee-mv1sd I agree about the art just not working. I think the main problem with the lamps was the shades. They blended too much with the background, were the wrong shape and didn’t seem like it was carefully selected to interact with the space. I think she was going for the trendy boho collected look? The items were just not “talking” to each other very well. Adding vintage to contemporary can look lovely it just needs to be done with a well trained eye and obviously with better thought out decor. Also, she’s a content creator. I’m assuming she needed to create a video. Sometimes you gotta keep changing things up to stay relevant I suppose. She’s going under quarantine too so I’m not sure if that’s affecting her ability to work on other spaces. Just offering a different point of view. I did like the before better design wise. I think saying “kinda sad” makes ME kinda sad. We’ve all made mistakes and bad choices. I’m sure she knows this and is willing to risk that to learn and do better next time. She’s a DIYer first before anything else. I don’t like it when fellow designers make others feel bad for their choices. They don’t know what they don’t know. That’s all you gotta say to yourself. Or better, offer her your advice and opinion in a constructive manner. You’re of course entitled to your opinion but saying things like “kinds sad” sounds catty and that is not a good look nor is it how you should represent yourself as a person that works in a service that helps others.

Agreed! I like the tone on tone lampshades against the headboard - less visual noise. Not all the elements of the room have to pop or give contrasts. The brass gives some warmth to the space and a nice surprise. There is enough black accents in the room. “Calm” bedrooms are more conducive for sleeping.

I love the lamps. I just think with the custom headboard, the pendant lights with hidden cords would have just looked amazing!!Not mad at the lamps at all though.

Yeah if she did a shorter hairpin leg or a slanted wood leg it would raise them to a perfect height to use the pendant lights. Especially if she hides the cord behind the panels. I ain't mad at her for swapping out the lamps for now. I imagine she needs a break every now and then too... To be continued for future content. 🤞🤞🤞

Yes-solid wood covered in foam padding. Batting is way too thin for upholstery, that isn't what it's made for.

Probably save on cost.
