In the 70's it was common for all of us Rockers to loudly proclaim "Disco Sucks" (it was even available on t-shirts). But, looking back, there was some AWESOME Disco goin' on. And this tune is amongst the absolute best, as is most of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

I think *every* musical genre ends up going through a "___ sucks" phase sooner or later. :-) From what I remember, Disco entered that phase when the genre got oversaturated with too many second- and third-rate acts trying to jump on the bandwagon, and people just got burned out on it.

I leaned on it a lot when I was going through chemotherapy, lost all of my hair and just couldn't even do the smallest task without feeling completely worn out - I'd listen to this song as a reminder that I'm more than a woman, more than what I think I can handle, it really helped me to stay positive and keep on fighting (and dancing :-). Back in the late 70's I'd go to the Disco, then to a Rock club, then back to the Disco, then back to a Rock club... all in the same night. Loved every second of it.

Sometimes I can't believe these 3 men sat down and wrote HIT AFTER HIT on a soundtrack for a movie. It's mind blowing how good the Saturday Night Fever music is.

Luby maybe you didn't know this. I was shocked when I found out too. They did not write the music for Saturday night fever these. I mean they wrote it but these songs were written before the movie was ever made and it's sat on a shelf for I don't know how long. And when the movie came out they decided to look at this music and see if it would fit. Are you s******* me? It's the greatest music ever you couldn't have written it. Better for the movie when the movie came out. This just was such a natural fit that it was unbelievable. Look it up and see for yourself. Everything needs boys ever did was so incredible and that's why. There has never been a better group than The Bee Gees for anything in the world ever. And they're never will be again any guys like they were. God bless them all.
