Also The Brothers were heavily influenced by American R & B most notably Motown. They also wanted Otis Redding to Record "To Love Somebody" but e died in a Plane Crash in 1967. When you hear Barry Sing, it's known as "Falsetto" aka The High Voice. In the 1950's & 1960's alot of Male R & B Groups had the guy who sang the "High" Parts. Two of the most legendary were Eddie Kendricks Of The Temptations (RIP), Phillip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire, and Russell Tompkins Of The Sytlistics who heavily influenced Barry. If you can, check out "To Love Somebody", from the 1960's.

"The Voice" Steve Perry will give you chills with the greatest vocal range of any rock n roll singer in history. About 2002 my wife and I attended a wedding of the daughter of a friend (Chinese). This was in Queens so the mix was global. The crowd was much younger. The groom's cousin (Filipino) was a DJ with a deep blend of good dance music. This came on and my wife and I showed them how to do it. Sometimes being old-school has its points.
