Too funny, that shed hive is doing really well, Sticky mess, hope we get to see it again after it has been cleaned up. The Fridge swarm looked like they were doing a good job, funny how well they cleaned up the wax moth! Cheers for the fun, stay safe!

I would probably add a frame of capped brood to boost the hive going into winter and maybe a frame of honey or 2 and then later on another frame of capped brood

I’m going to have to find more on that fridge hive. I love wild hives like that. Seems like the perfect spot nice and insulated Did the other hive die out from not having enough food or what happened?

Hi BBM i was sitting out the front the other day and thought i could hear bees ? i certainly did a massive swarm flew past it was enormous i grabbed my coffee and bolted inside , my last inspection the girls had stuck the the honey frames to the queen excluder was a bit of a pain trying to get them out dont think it will be to long before i am harvesting .

If you wouldn’t use those wired frames when you do the cut out you wouldn’t end up with the goofy frames and you wouldn’t have to go through this procedure. And those drones that hatch out above the queen excluder will die up there because they can’t get through the excluder.
