Seeing how fast that meal came together, who could ever think dehydrated foods don't have a place in a kitchen pantry?!

Bev you're the best. You make everything look easy and you use what you have in your kitchen or pantry and you can throw anything together. This is why I love your Channel. Plus you don't put on any show for anybody you are yourself you were as natural as can be. I'm a proud Canadian and proud of you

No joke about the refilling. I love my husband, but he is honestly the most oblivious man! LOL He has his own container of Q-Tips, I happened to look at them one night to see he had TWO left. How do you not notice this? It is so bizarre to me! Same thing with his coffee, he has run out before and I don't drink it so had no reason to check it. He does plenty of other things wonderfully though, so I don't mind too much. :P This looked so delicious!!

YES !!! And you could sub in chicken- Turkey meat - even hamburger has done very well with my family’s taste bud … and dumplings made with it would be so simple and just add to the satisfaction factor and deliciousness !!!😉 I LOVE HER CHANNEL‼️‼️‼️🥰🥰 To listen to her makes me feel like just maybe if we take a little extra time to think of others more than ourselves … always on the watch for ways to reach out & share … thinking of others’ needs & contributing to the simplest comforts of others lifts each of us up instead of always putting little ole no.1 first … simplify, simplify, simplify … Best wishes & my sincere prayers go out to all of those who are wanting & in real need … of so much that can never be purchased at any store or website … there are most valuable commodities that gold, money, stocks & bonds, or even bartering cannot buy or deliver … nope not WalMart or CostCo or any other wholesale/retail place … that MOST ESSENTIAL HUMAN CARING as well as THE HUMAN TOUCH … We as s country & in our communities NEED to return to developing that unique & only human gift … COMPASSION … As the world continues to preach self-indulgence, personal comforts, always playing it “safe” instead of realizing that there is NO safety or comfort for the majority of folks while being sanctioned, censored, or micromanaged by narcissistic tyrants, In order for us to serve the few most privileged on this planet !!! Great meal !!! And terrific for lunch or dinner (or breakfast even) the next day😋

@Jennifer Griffiths, Great comment! Did you know about the Xmas card/seed exchange Bev started? It's too late to sign up this year, however, it's something Bev started that addresses part of what you talked about, people needing some human contact, especially around the holidays. I just wanted to mention it as I thought it was was so thoughtful of her to think of a way to help those who aren't physically close by.

Yummy, yummy!!! Love that you added noodles, reminds me of how my mom would make this and many other meals when we were little. I asked my mom as an adult that what ever gave her the idea to add the noodles because it was so more delicious with them. She said, "mija, meat was pricey and i had to make our food and money stretch, noodles were on the economic price side so it helped the food multiply so we could all eat comfortably. " My mother was a beautiful and very smart woman, miss her bunches, she taught me everything I know. Love you Mami! 💕😘💕

When I made a stew this weekend I remembered what you said about fully coating the meat for browning. I had only been very lightly dusting before, comes too soupy and then I had to mess with it afterwards. Your way came out perfect. Thanks Bev!

Looks good Bev. I have always made mine similar to this way but recently started adding a tablespoon of tomato paste, teaspoon of cumin & a splash of worchester. Makes the gravy so rich & delicious. Not only do we women do the refilling we have to make the grocery lists too. I will ask my husband what he needs from the store and he will say nothing and then I look at everything he uses and he will be empty. Or he will wait for me to come back from the store to tell me he’s out of some thing.

Love beef stew but I always add dried mushrooms for the flavor. Yum. This morning's video on "Pinball Preparedness " was on how to make homemade vinegar and I couldn't help remembering how you peeled all those deer apples. Those peels would have made some great vinegar.

You sounded just like my mother who is no longer with us, but my husband and I always laugh because on Sunday lunch we nearly always have a roast it’s tradition in both our family’s. My mum always cooked her meat in advance of the vegetables so when she served it up it was lukewarm which I have to confess and never changed in 64 years of marriage. When I asked her once why she let the meat cool down she said and I quote “the joint of meat goes further” you could not get her to agree it was only because she could slice it thinner as the meat couldn’t magically add flesh to the bone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but we still loved her even if she was quirky.

Bev, can you tell me if canned precooked chicken tastes better than raw packed? I’m going to electric pressure can a bunch of legs and thighs I got for $0.99/pound and I don’t know which way would taste the best in flavor and texture as I have never pressure caned nor cooked meat. Also try white pepper to crack. It’s so much better than black. I get mine through amazon
