In today's beekeeping video I'm finally trying my experiment of honey bees that I've wanted to do for years. I want to see if the wax we add to our frames is 1. Used by bees for the entire comb or 2. Just barely used to help them start adding their own produced bees wax.

Did a removal yesterday from a 6 inch steel pipe was blown away when I found the queen she was fluro Orange all over even her leg and no markings just one solid colour I have never seen that before

What market do you recommend I’ve marked my queen twice and it wears off over time green

I use posco paint Parker with medium tip. Fine tips are no easy nor would I use chives tip.

@@navyphil6105 Make sure the marker is fresh. I used a red Uni Posca marker this year that's from 2018. The red dots have all faded off the carniolan queens in less than 2 months. I have only Uni Posca markers and use different color for breeds. Make certain the marker isn't old. I have learned this the hard way. Don't buy a whole set and don't buy ahead. No matter the brand old paint markers wont stay on.

Hives in full sun have less problems with hive beetles than in shade.

My summers are very hot. My shaded hives keep hive beetles chased out but my sunny hives are too busy trying to stay cool. I don't agree with that viral comment.

What liquids are safe to mark queens? The markers dry out too fast for my few backyard hives.

I just did some extensive work on my 2 hives did not see one queen I can’t even see eggs soo many bees covering !! Both hives had 2 mite count per 300 bees one hive does not have that many bees in it they were installed about month ago I really don’t feel it be safe to treat for mites formic pro that’s what I have I’m afraid I have to wait a month or so😢

I've got a line of queens that I love but I find that when I do a split and try to add a new queen to the queenless part of the split hive, they will release her and look happy but then a week later, she's gone and they are making new queens. I've waited 24 hours so they know they are queenless and removed all queen cells that are started. I'm thinking I need to wait til there are no young eggs (and remove all queen cells) then wait till all brood is capped before I try to add a queen. Am I thinking correctly?

I unfortunately waxed my foundation with "pure/organic beeswax" from China. I've now purchased real pure beeswax from your Amazon link. Should I apply another coat using this correct beeswax?
