I love as well that it keeps the phone off the handlebars. No matter how strong or durable a mount feels, I never truly trust them. I trust this a lot more to not fall off, and even if it somehow did, I haven't lost as much as if it were my phone.

Hi Jason, yes you need to keep your bluetooth and location running in order for the Beeline to operate. Obviously, your milage will vary depending on how new your phone is and the condition of your battery.

Very true, but I would be careful on that. I did the same thing on one of my old androids and the vibration destroyed the hardware and software of the device. Phone won't even turn on now. Might be something to consider for long term:)

Provided you have a bluetooth connection, everything will work correctly.

Beeline In complex crosses like in the cities or turns in quick succession it’s impossible not going wrong! When I’m turning the device say that I’m at 25 meters from the turning, if I listen to it I go ahed loosing the turn. It’s ok outside of a city where you have a lot of space and can’t go wrong or misunderstand, but try it in a city. My experience in Milan is very bad, pricy and useless. Maybe riding a bicycle it’s ok.

Hey Phil, we don't have any audio directions at the moment but you would be able to pair another Bluetooth enabled device at the same time for audio directions from a different app if you wanted to.

@@ridebeeline I think that’s a serious limitation. Without a sound notification that there’s an upcoming turn, I will just go flying past it. I know this from experience when using a satnav without a headset. Just a beep from the phone would do as that’d play on my Bluetooth headset paired to my phone. Doesn’t need to be directions read out in English. Surely a simple change to the app - beep if distance to the next turn is less than say 0.5 of a mile?

Hey Paul, Sorry for the delay in replying to you. The main differences between the two are: - The Beeline Moto is more durable and has a higher rating for dust proofing and waterproofing than the Beeline Velo. - The Beeline Moto has physical buttons as opposed to captive touch buttons that the Beeline Velo has. These are easier to use at high speeds and when wearing motorcycle gloves. - The Beeline Moto has mounts specifically built for securely attaching the Beeline to a range of motorcycles. The Beeline Velo strap wouldn't be able to withstand the high speeds and engine vibrations of being on a motorcycle. You can use the Moto on bicycles and motorcycles but we would only recommend using the Velo on bicycles. The mounts are available to buy separately but are not compatible with the Beeline Velo - they rely on a lock-in mechanism which isn't on the Beeline Velo.

Not that I can figure out in the settings- I've played around with mine to check, I might have missed it but doesn't seem to offer that feature- otherwise it's a fantastic little device, can't fault it.

Hey Janne! The maps do work offline and don't need an active data/internet connection except if you want to reroute, which I can see is what you were wanting to do here. Thank you for the feedback about being able to change waypoints whilst on a route. I've passed this on to our tech team and hopefully this is something we can look at adding in the near future. I hope your ride was good, despite the inconvenience!

Believe it works via Bluetooth with your phone so yes. Phone needs to be on. But.. liking it.

Hey Shaney! The Beeline doesn't actually need a phone signal once you're out on the journey. You only need an internet/data connection when planning your route or inputting your destination but once that's done then no need to worry about signal. We even often tell people to put their phone in aeroplane mode whilst riding to avoid battery drain!

Hi Joe, you can absolutely do that. Beeline Moto works great on a bicycle with the universal strap mount. We've design the app to allow people to do exactly what you've described!

​@@ridebeeline I have finally been able to chase down the answer for this from your co-founder. You might want to UPDATE the contents of the link you provided. And here's his reply:

The position of the Turn Dot is the angle of the Turn. If it's near the top, the angle of the Turn is less whilst if it is at the center, the angle of the Turn is 90 degrees Turn. If it's at the bottom, it's more like a U-turn.

It's a lot easyer to just just use the loader as a mount, pluck the Usb cable in and U got permanent power. You can mount the loader with the rubber bands from the set or use Ziptirs. Only thing I havent teste or read up on' yet, is if it over loads with time or not

Yeah it’s not a pocket or pouch issue .. the underside is scratched from the mount fitting . Doesn’t seem to have for any worse so I’ll just crack on with it . Great product by the way

Hey Phil, there was a lower price for Kickstarter backers as they helped us create the product. We were always transparent about how much the final product would cost so it was never a "price hike".

Hey! The Beeline was actually designed in London so we definitely took that into account when creating it. We'd recommend trying it out in the city though and seeing how you feel about it - we have a 30 day trial period where you can return the Beeline within 30 days for a full refund if you don't like it.

Hey Nikolaos, the device is in Compass Mode so the arrow here is indicating that the destination is to the west so, when safe to do so, the rider should take a left when next possible.

@@nikolaosberatlis3942 Compass Mode allows you to choose your own route with the device showing you the general direction you should be heading in to get to your destination. I do get automated responses when I send emails to your support email address, so it doesn't seem like it's a problem of emails not getting into your inbox. I did finally get a response to my message with instructions on how to do the device exchange. But I sent my device three weeks ago (order TR0374) and haven't heard anything back. I don't even know if my device has been received. So it would be great if someone could get in touch and at least confirm the device has arrived.

Hey Ben! Yes you could though you would have to put a route in to be able to get the Speedo function. Also bear in mind that the Beeline wasn't built to be a Speedo so it may not be as accurate as an actual Speedo.

That's not currently an option but definitely something we'd like to think about incorporating in the future!

Hey! Yes, it works worldwide! We use MapBox as the base for our routing so you may need to check the level of routing they provide for your country if you want to use Route Mode but Compass Mode will work in all countries.

I can confirm it does, both on motorcycles and bicycles.

Hi Mark, it does indeed work while charging, and you can charge it from any standard USB power source. The battery life on the unit however is extremely long, so it's unlikely you'll need to power it whilst riding, unless you're riding for over 24 hours!

You cannot turn it off, so the battery will run down if you don't ride as often as you like. I hadn't used mine in about three weeks and it was down to 8%. However I put it in my tank bag connected to a power bank for ~30 minutes on the way to my destination, and it had plenty of power to get me back home taking the long way. edit; I was (thankfully) corrected below. You can *shut* it off.

Hey Kevin! You can use the left and right buttons to navigate to the different screens on the device once you've set a route, one of them is the speedo screen. You can't use the speedo without setting a route first :)

Hey! The Beeline does show speed too, you can navigate between the different screens using the left and right buttons to show you your speed, estimated distance left to travel, time and the main directional arrow :)

I am trying to pair from the beeline app, but no response from the device. I haven’t had battery optimisation on my phone but it completely drains my battery using the beeline, happened again yesterday then I’m stuck with no navigation abilities and no phone calling abilities, this is really poor. I’ve had my phone for 2 years and am consequently very familiar with battery health and lifespan and to lose all battery within a couple of hours when its being used just for this app is not normal for this phone. App version is 3.1.4422, I can see no way in settings nor your support pages of updating this. I’d like to swap this out for a new device please or get my money back. The first is that everyone's phone is different. The more you've used it, the less battery performance you can expect, and of course, different phones have larger or smaller batteries, have software that is better optimised, or you may have different background apps and services running. All these elements play a part in dictating the kind of battery performance you can expect to see when using Beeline. Long story short - your mileage may vary depending on your phone and the apps you have running on it. iOS offers some helpful battery analytics in the 'Battery' section of your iPhone settings. This might help you to identify apps that are running in the background and using a lot of battery power. So, with that caveat out of the way, we generally find you can run for upwards of four hours on most smartphones when using Beeline, with a brand new iPhone offering closer to 8-10 hours. Since you aren't using the display on your phone when using the device (which uses the majority of battery power compared to everything else), this helps the phone to last a lot longer than if using it to display something like Google Maps on your handlebars. We're always optimising the app to offer better battery life, and you can even put your phone into Flight Mode to really save battery if you don't require rerouting. This works particularly well when using compass mode. Hopefully, that's a helpful outline - let me know if you have any further questions. I thought I would also pop in this email how you can restart your device - it's super simple and good to know! To begin, please can you ensure that you are up to date with the latest version of the app (3.1.5402 on Android, 3.1.4422 on iOS) before following the steps in the screenshots attached? There are two versions, so please follow the first two attachments if you are on an Android phone, or alternatively the latter two if you are on iOS. This should help to sort you with a proper screen experience, but we will be eagerly awaiting your feedback here to be sure! @@ridebeeline no worries its sorted now . I'll leave an up dated review. it's where it's new and the raised "teeth" at 180° to each other have sharp edges . after these are worn in it works perfectly. maybe you could worn buyers of this when they purchase one .

Hi Mark, Make sure you're running the latest version of the Beeline app - provided you're in Moto routing mode, GPX import now supports over 22 waypoints in Route Mode! Let us know if you have any further issues.
