This is my first time watching, reacting, and reviewing 1X8 of Helluva Boss "Queen Bee." I hope you enjoy it!
SYNOPSIS
Follow Blitz, a classic demon Imp who sets out to run his own small assassin business with his weapons specialist Moxxie, his bruiser Millie, and his receptionist hellhound Loona. Together they attempt to survive each other while running a startup in Hell.

I love that we finally get a new character, one of the deadly sins no less, who didn't turn out to be a complete a***ole. And it's even more awesome that Vivziepop got her favorite singer (I'm pretty sure) Ke$ha to voice Beelzebub. That alone was definitely worth the wait.

I would argue that so far none of the sins we have seen have really been "assholes". Asmodeus was incredibly patient with both Moxxie and Millie, and he only was a bit of an ass to them because Moxxie did something that was contrary to the theme of his establishment... People pay to go to Ozzie's for very specific reasons and with very specific intentions afterall, so utlimately Asmodeus was basically just trying to keep everything that was going on in line with the themes of his establishment. In addition, when adressing Stolas, it might have seemed as if he was shaming him, but as the "Embodiment of Lust", he really was giving Stolas his full support... Obviously thats not whats Stolas wanted or needed to hear, but it essentially was geniuine approval of Stolas's actions.

The fact that Vivzie got Kesha to voice one of her characters brings me so much joy and nostalgia from her "Die Young" video. I love this character so much the whole team did amazing in this episode. I legit was not expecting Bee to actually be so sweet and wholesome, I was holding my breath waiting for her to become a real monster.

To be honest Bee actually reminded me of the character in Die Young, I never expected Kesha to actually voice one of the characters in the series.

@@Lazyanimator Yeah I think Bee's design definitely took some inspiration from Jay, especially the whole colour change aspect Bee had during her dance. As that was something Jay was known for, dying her fur different colours.

I personally appreciate your respectful honesty of not caring for the song, I loved it but we don’t all have to like the same things. Moving on and appreciating the other aspects is the absolute way to go. I absolutely pressed “don’t recommend this channel” on another reactor who thought it was a cute look to repeatedly mock the song 😂

I’m hyped for everyone who really loved it! It may have not been for me, but I recognize that lots of folks really enjoyed it and that’s awesome. There’s so much good in this episode, so it was a minor thing for me

@@MikeyVenture Different strokes for different folks, and I will agree that this kind of pop music is usually not my jam. I personally gave this one a chance and extra mileage because of how much I liked Bee's character design and personality, and when I got the lyrics to the song (minimal and repetitive as they are) I realized it was actually perfect for the character beyond just the way it sounds. She sings about what you want, not what you need, and how having what you want is a general feel good vibe. She goes on to sing about how this is empowering her to the point that she shines brighter than stars. The final touch is the "hook" of the song, with Cotton Candy being repeated as a refrain so often that it becomes borderline annoying and an ultimate earworm. This is also how Gluttony works. There IS such a thing as too much of a good thing. Loved the review/reaction and will definitely give this a thumbs up!

Yeah that's my dad! She finally said dad but she didn't just say dad once but twice. Also I love how she looks after him at the end of the episode s nice ending to a fantastic episode.

Bee can feel people's emotions, and when Blitz came to the party, she felt that there was something off about him (he drank two kegs of Beelzejuice and tried to start an orgy to hide the pain of what happened at Ozzie's).

Bee is a real one. She is legitimately nice and actually cares about the people at her party. Yeah, she wants people to party to excess, but not like Blitzo, he's trying to bury his pain and that isn't right. She's one of the most powerful beings in hell and yet she is remarkably genuine. She's friendly, she builds people up. She makes Loona feel good about just saying what she's thinking. She's chill. The kind of gorgeous, smart, popular person who doesn't hoard it for themselves, but spreads it around to everyone. And instead of just straight up kicking Blitzo out, she and Vortex approach Loona out of concern, allowing her to keep it private and in the family as it were. Really hoping we get more of her, but probably not easy to get Kesha to do voice overs :D lol. She see's a lot of herself in Loona so I can totally see them becoming friends. And yeah, Blitzo is going through some major pain and trauma here. Literally the night he got home from Ozzie's. And it's nice that people can finally see the tender and caring side we've known Loona has. She really does appreciate Blitzo and care about him. Hearing her call him Dad twice is extremely wholesome and moving.

I'm so blown away with these stunning visual effects and animations that they did, I love that this is the first Loona-focused episode I've ever seen, and would love to see more of them in the future, even seeing so many various Hellhounds looked awesome! And the fact that Vivian actually got KESHA to guest star in this is honestly huge. Rating this 10/10!!! Happy Saturday and Episode 8 Day, folks! #HelluvaBoss

I’m actually really glad with how Bee turned out. I was so ready for her to be a typical jealous bitch (because let’s face it, Helluva Boss does tend to steer into tropes for more minor characters) but she was actually super dope. And I was blown away when I realized she was voiced by Kesha. Like what the heck bro. I don’t listen to a ton of her music but there were definitely a few songs that I rocked out too back when she first became big.

Her first words to Loona could definitely have gone the typical bitch route too... but she's just honest and genuine. Seriously, who wouldn't want to hang out with Bee?! She builds everyone up.

Glad you catch she was Beelzebub and she even mentioned Belphegor now we know that Belphegor is also a she that deals with the dug industry in hell. The song respect im a rock an house man so i get it still found it fun personality . I agree I like when shows can go to just some fun break from constant lore love unless a pivotal moment or climax. Always fun this show to be a nice balance so im glad we got some fun too.

I think Bee was so concerned about Blitz coz he wasn't geting wasted in the spirit of decadence and extravangance that Gluttony covers, he was getting wasted to numb the pain over the whole Stolas fiasco which was way more to do with Pride, which isn't her sin and thus not her vibe.

Kesha, being a pretty huge pop star, probably was given the longer song because, hey, if you have a major pop star, you make sure you get what you can from her time! Kesha was also the singer that Vivzie got some of her earliest popularity from, thanks to her fan-made animations of Kesha songs. Having her favorite singer perform a voice on the series was a beautiful full-circle for Vivzie, I'm sure. Also, Kesha was a surprisingly good voice actor!

I just realised that nobody dies in this episode, unless you want to count the potted plant that Blitzø obliterated while Tokyo-drifting into Bee's driveway. Even the Mega-Chad who got his face completely imploded by Loona at 13:13 was fine (relatively speaking, of course).

Are we gonna gloss over the fact that Vortex's girlfriend is fucking Beelzebub herself?! Like.... This wolf-boy scored a Lucifer level Demon 😂. Well.... Shouldn't be that surprising since Fizzaroli seems to be in a relationship with Asmodeus as well. Bee's design is awesome.... Can't wait to see the remaining Deadly Sins like Satan, Leviathan, Belphegor and Mammon (although we already have a good idea how Mammon will look like since Vivzie revealed his silhouette on Twitter).

Beautiful episode, I'm glad Loona made friends and good on her for trying to socialize. Gave me myself vibes when she wanted to leave. Everything about Bee was amazing, Tex staying by Loona trying to make sure she had a good time was comforting. Surprisingly a lot of Hellhounds and imps were nice and inviting. I loved how both of them cared enough for Loona to check on Blitzø without being bitchy. Loona was just on auto defense mode.

Yes, actual Kesha did the voice acting. Someone else has to sing the song, Kesha was in a lawsuit so she couldn't sing. Loona calling Blitzø "dad" touched a lot of people, she does care about him. She took care of him, got him home when he probably would've drunk himself to death, made sure he was going to be okay. Blitzø hates himself. A lot. He's scratched himself out of all the photos he's in, take a look at the photos on the wall. As for Bee, love the character design, love that she's genuinely concerned about Blitzø, she's just a decent lord of hell.

@@MikeyVenture So this is from 8+ years ago when she was working on her little shorts series Zoophobia. She had a character JayJay and she did a fan animation with her characters to Die Young by Ke$ha. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/faigetaQxq3FaHU.html Now Kesha has voiced one of her characters. It's a nice little full circle thing. It was dealing with Kesha's former horrific producer that kept this episode in legal hell. She just won her case and is free of that producer now a few days ago. Viv tweeted shortly after that she was pretty sure the episode could now be shown.

I find it really cool that Kesha was there. Because if you didn't know. Vivzie got her first real attention by an animation she made of a song of Kesha called "Die Young". So having her in the show just goes full circle. Which I find really beatiful.

Still blown away they got fucking Ke$ha to not only voice a character, but sing for them too! 🤯 Ke$ha was one of my favorite artists growing up, and her song really reminded me of her stuff in the early 2010’s. I personally loved it, my inner 10-12 year old was VERY happy.

Just to correct a little, Kesha did the voice of Bee and she is credited as writing the song, but she did not sing it. I'm guessing the legal issues were related to this.

As real and nice as Bee is there is a sinister overtone to her. Though she looks to be a mix between a Hell Hound and a Bee it's safe to say that that bee side of her would have pheromones like bees. The way everyone looks crazy and submissive around her, including Tex and the reason they look doped up after eating her Cotton Candy is that it may be laced with or made from bee pheromones to kind of keep everyone "under her spell" in a way and addicted in some ways if you add a drug aspect to it.

This is definitely what the H and H fandom needed, a perfect mix of why we love Vivzie in the first. Interestingly new developments and characters, good jokes, a heart-wrenching moment at the end, a spectacular of animation with Cotton Candy, and a great surprise all worth the wait. I also find it really sweet the Viv got to work with Kesha from how much she must admire her, as proof by one of her, what used to be, most popular videos.

I believe Bee is supposed to be a cross between a Fennec Fox (petite nose, oversized ears, and geral coloring) and, well, a bee. Love that Kesha was the voice. As others have said, her ex manager eas a dick and had unreasonable control over her and her musical property, hence the loooooong delay. She's finallybaway from him now, if i have heard correctly. Love Bee's vibe! So far the most friendly of the Seven Lords of Hell, and actually has comcern for jer guests (unlike Ozzy - Prince of Lust- who seemed to relish in making his patrons uncomfortable if they were not acting in thecway he wanted). Really curious about Belphagor (Prince...well gere Princess, of Sloth). Satan (Prince of Wrath), too, though its been hinted hed look like a more imposing form of the Wrath Ring Imps). We've kinda seen Mammon (Prince of Greed) on the money, and Leviathan is most likely shark like (as befitting the Prince of greed and the shark type demons weve seen here and there). Lucifer (Prince the Pride, and King of Hell) we've saw in the paintings at the Hazbin Hotel in the pilot). Great to see this side of Loona! And it makes her talk with Via in Season Two hit harder. You see here she does love Blitz, but as she tells Via, relationships can be hard and Dad's can fuck up.

Slight correction there: Mammon is Greed, you're right, but Leviathan is - Envy. Which brings a question - to whomst do loan sharks belong? Mammon is a Jester, that looks pretty much like Fizz (if we're judging by theface on the bills), so which species is he? Also, we saw Belphegor's species in the 4th ep of season 2, two goats in the hospital.

@@neksuscat yep I realized that after I posted 🤦🏾‍♂️😅 I forgot that sometimes the prince/princess look like their biblical descriptions, but other times it's more of a play on words. Like be because Beelzebub is the lord of the flies and she has honey because you can get more flies with honey than vinegar, not sure the fennec fox comes in though... Lol So is on that line font when I was describing life and being like loan sharks and greed forgetting that they've stayed in Leviathan is envy lol. I guess sharks are envious of everything everyone else has and hence they eat everything... I don't know. But yeah, biblically speaking Leviathan was a large sea monster so hence the sea theme. I forgot that the goats were Belphagor's demons!

Imma be honest. If there was any lords of hell I'd trust off the bat, it would probably be Beelzebub. She's like a rave mom, who wants everyone to have a good time. Best part is, she has a genuine reason to keep her guests happy, as she feeds off that energy.

I have no clue whether this is true or not, but I like the idea that the reason Bee's song was long and repetitive is meant to represent overindulgence and her being the sin of gluttony!

I just realised - why does every demon royalty so far have a lover that's considered the lowest of the barrel? Stolas- Blitz (imp), Asmodeus- Fizz (imp), and now Beelzebub- Tex (hellhound, lower than imp)

To be honest the Chazz song was really long and kinda boring in my opinion but Bee’s song was at least really good and catchy even if it is a bit longer. Still although I wasn’t expecting her looks like that I must admit I love her design and the fact that her voice actor is Kesha is so cool (another amazing character voiced by someone famous, like Paimon and Striker).

Shame this got caught up in legal issues, I think this would have been a really cool and sorta sweet? way to end the season. Not to mention its kind of a full circle moment for Vizzie basically revamping on of her OG videos, and also the visuals in this episode are on fking point, the colors the animation everything. But going back to the story stuff for a sec, I love Luna actually coming out of her shell and even if he was so drunk he probably wont remember having Blitz fully let out whats bugging him is great character stuff. But if im to play devils advocate (ha) I wonder were the continuation from this is in season 2? Closest thing we got was the sweet Luna and Olivia moment in episode 2. The show can do some fantastic character work when it wants to, I just wish it kept some of these plot lines running

It's just a theory but what if the hellhounds are her slaves to produce this honey, because it is needed to produce all the drugs in the sloth ring? Also if the Hellhounds multiply more than Imps and are then shunted into Hellhound adoption.... Bee doesn't probably know that though.......or she don't care.. like Asmodeus kick Moxxie around because he is just an Imp... If she doesn't know..she is "Chaotic Neutral" to me. If she knows: "Lawful Evil" to me P.S. Not my type of music etiher..

Personally, the only Kesha's song I know is Tik Tok, which I love, but that's all😅 (Plus she's less known in France of course) but it was cool to have her. I love Bee's design and the animation during her performance, wow😮 It was nice to see Loona and Blitz have their moment❤. Blitz fearing to die alone made me cry so much. Because I think we can all have that fear. I'm glad we could have watched this episode and I can't wait to see what's next for season 2

I think everyone made such a big deal out of Loona calling that other hellhound a b!tch because it’s a derogatory name used on a dog. So… it’s apparently like a slur or something when used in that context 😅. I think it was fine when Bee said it because she wasn’t using it as an insult.

So some insight; Keshas record label is horrible to her. There was a whole court case regarding her autonomy to her art and her voice and she can't make music outside of her record label. That's probably why the episode was delayed because they were working out legal issues with having her voice on the episode. Kesha didn't even sing the song likely because of that and they had to get around it. I also believe because she wrote the song is where the issue lied and they just needed the rights to it. Nonetheless I agree that the song dragged on despite me actually liking it. I think my gripe sometimes is thst the song should fill a bit of purpose, like Ozzies song is long as hell but it's telling me information I need to know. However, since this episode wasn't super intended to progress a lot of plot and was done for fun, I think its fine. It's just here to give respect to vivzie roots in animation and I think it's neat. :)

The first five minutes of the episode is missing. Tex's howl is week. Loona's context of Bitch, and the Bee's context of Bitch are VERY different. Bee is half Fox and half Bee. Remember she had posted a note on her bedroom door saying Tex had invited her to a party. Tex's Girlfriend is Bee of Bee leZbub. A ruler of hell like Piemon, Stolas, or Asmodius Blitzo had 5 15g kegs of Bees drinks.

Piemon and Stolas are not "rulers of hell", they're royalty of Arse Goetia, but not "rulers" per see. The actual rulers are 7 deadly Sins, which Bee and Ozzie actually are, along with Lucifer, Satan, Mammon and the like.

I also think the episode would've gained from the song being a few seconds shorter. I'm still fine with it though, because it was a good pretext to show off Beelzebub's incredible design and animation. Also, this is the second prince of hell to be introduced by a song. Hopefully this will become a pattern !

Yeah but I guess because they had Kesha write a song for them. It could be a just in a once and done thing for the series. So might as well make a full song and lots of dialogue for her. I think Bee could return but maybe won’t perform again.
