I live in Boston, Massachusetts, a city which from since before I was born has had an advanced sewage treatment plant that recycles into drinkable water for the region. To hear people approaching the idea of sewage treatment and recycling water with such apprehension and talking about it as "drinking toilet water" reminds me of that part from Idiocracy.

Lewis being surprised that people would drink 10 whole beers in a night really got me. One of my friends, who is an alcoholic, would drink like the whole 24 pack And then go on to drink a third of a handle. Maybe not every night though

The PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) is in my state, Wisconsin!!! Yes, they're in the stores, and yes I've seen someone purchase it. It's a pretty popular beer here. If you looked up the most 'drunk' state we're the top. Also, our alcohol content is higher than, I think, most if not all other states. [edit] I'd venture to say that it would last about 5 parties in Wisconsin. And we're one of those places that has an addition fridge in the garage. If you were to buy this in the winter (and your garage isn't heated) you wouldn't have to put it in the fridge because the garage would be cold enough to just leave it there. Yes there are a lot of Germans here, heritage wise.

There was a massive cholera outbreak in London at some point and this guy (i forgot his name) looked at the houses and who had been infected and found that all the cases centred around a well, apparently the well wasn't being filtered properly and so fecal matter had got into the well, causing the outbreak. So he went to the government and demanded that they fix the plumbing and water filtration system of London, and he was the designer of it, so if that is true, then we've been filtering water for at least 100 years. It's just whether we've been doing it well enough that's changed. Eventually all of the water in the world will have at one point have been urine, so filtration is our only route to a sustainable supply of water. I'd stop swimming in the sea at that point though... *after looking it up again - it was a water pump, not a well. And it occurred on Broad Street, so if that Street is still around today (which I'm 90% sure it is) then you can go visit!

it depends how you look at it.... the water molecules in urine are still normal water molecules! so no, water has never BEEN urine, it might have been mixed with other stuff in our bodies, after wich we CALL it urine, but its still the same old water! In Singapore we get most of our water from Malaysia - however international relations are always tricky when you have an unreliable neighbor, so we rely on multiple reservoirs, a huge desalination plant and recycling water to ensure we are self sufficient. Gotta do what you gotta do to remain independent from greedy governments.
@tomhalf3018

Take your filthy political garbage elsewhere, I'm pretty sure most malaysians think signapore is a landfill and not even worth sending their water over, seeing as Singapore isn't afraid to take some other countries garbage and bury it for them for money. Whats that? Singapore doesn't have basic human rights in 2022? Weird who would have thought a independent and sovereign country would have backwards laws, little human rights and a economic social status thats falling apart. I could go on but why waste my time pointing out all of greedy corrupt singapores problems

The food challenge is actually a huge triple patty burger with trimmings, a basket of dirty loaded fries, 15 hot wings (very hot, supposedly), coleslaw, pickles, and sauces. It costs £25, and if you eat it all in 45 minutes its free, you get a t-shirt, and your picture on the wall. There is also a wall of shame for people who failed the challenge.

As a brewer I can tell you the majority of your water for beer is infact boiled to atleast 90c as your making the wort (pre fermented beer) It is then usually fermented at 15c for atleast a week while the krauss forms (yeast converting and bubbling into foam), it is then chilled even lower to around 5c while you inject co2

I can't believe these two intellectuals, known for their deep and considerate approach to mathematics, didn't realize a case of beers would be a cube, not flat... so you're looking for triple combination factors, not double. But yes, there's probably a gap in there somewhere since its factors are mostly other prime/composites.

I dont know if that is the same beer, but they have sewage beer in Singapore, and the reason they started doing it is because Singapore does not have a lot of water, and they will run out someday soon. They have started building direct reuse water plants which just turns sewage straight back into water, but they are worried that their citizens will not want to drink that water, even though its totally safe to drink. This is one of the ways they are trying to ease people into the idea of drinking their own treated sewage water Also, if those Pabst beers are cans, they are probably the little soda sized ones so10 isn't really that weird. That probably wouldn't even get you that drunk to be honest.. or maybe I'm an alcoholic lol
