On the show today, we have with us a very special guest IPS D. Sivanandhan. He has been a former Maharashtra DGP who was once the Chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch in the late 90s. During his tenure, 238 gangsters from several gangs, including, Chhota Rajan, and the Abu Salem gang, were killed in the encounter. He is someone who is known for destroying the Mumbai underworld on the basis of his insane leadership abilities.

In this conversation, we spoke in detail about the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks, the misfortunate incident which took place in 2008. IPS D. Sivanandhan became the Police commissioner after that incident, being extremely close to the system, he broke down what exactly went through the minds of the Police across India at that time.

Just because the judiciary isn't good doesn't mean we entertain more crime, next could be crime against a baby, you, me or our families. Best is to unite and prepare to prevent or minimize the cause and effects of crime, terrorism and calamities. Everyone wants this.

It was your bureaucracy which let it become this big. Taking names and blaming one department is wrong but as a collective, the administration had all possibilities to stop him when he wasn't that gutsy and big enough but when he did it. It was shocking but even after that, allegedly the police still had a chance to catch him (debatable) but when you're unable to catch someone for 3 decades with overwhelming evidence then maybe you are acting at his mercy. I am myself from Mumbai and respect Mumbai Police and law enforcements here a lot but pre Dawood, there was a big lapse.
