Thank you for taking the time to edit this and to post it. I have loved the clarinet since the mid 1950s, when I discovered my mother’s records, some jazz, some classical. I was watching Season 3, Episode 7, of the TV series “Elementary,” and a character mentioned having given up the clarinet after harsh criticism of her part in a performance of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony. And the chase was on! What a beautiful and satisfying performance. Bravo, and my deepest thanks. 🙏

One of the few recordings where the diminuendo on the triplets at the end of the 1st movement solo can actually be heard... beautiful playing and you have made everything difficult sound effortless. Bravo!

Was I correct in taking an educated guess that you had to double tongue the 3rd movement?

lots of irritating moving but no musicality suprised that guy has a paying job.just cuz you move don't mean you are playing musically..look at the really great players...Marcellus, Wright Mclane. Bonde..no moving just great playing .. save your energy for the music...get your excercise jogging after the concert is over

Hi. Usually I don’t reply to this kind of comments, not because of the critics but because of the bad terms used. But in your case I will, for one simple reason: the young/teenage clarinetists who are watching this video and your comment, don’t have to fear the movement, and their body. Huge mental complexes will come and their ability to express themselves will be killed. Some people don’t move, some people do. If you feel to do it you just have to learn to do it with the music, not against. The bottom line is: if you really are annoyed by my movements just close your eyes, if it’s hard to close your eyes, there are other videos in the channel just audio. For the youngsters: don’t be afraid of who you are, if people tell you that they are disturbed by your movements, remind them how they are: BORING.

By the way, I really need some jogging, my doctor said the same so, thank you for the advice! About you, listening to your videos, please try to do some dynamics, just for fun.

@@mastroclarinet Matteo you should not even waste your breath. He said you have not musicality in your playing, and then his videos are about weber concerto played with the tone of a 10 years old on a cracked instrument lol. I honestly don't mind the movements, even though i prefer to not move, music is about playing right? Then (like you said) i close my eyes and i enjoy it. Matteo every your video (specially the excerpts) is like a masterclass to me. Please keep them up!

If you don't wanna see movement, you may go home and listen to a CD, why see live performance?
