The time has come for the elevators at IKEA in Bloomington, MN to be modernized! Specifically, these are the elevators by the returns department in the store. These hadn't been in the best shape before they were modernized: They were slow, had issues, ran lovely due to being exposed to the elements, and overall felt very worn. IKEA decided to have KONE come in and modernize both of these elevators. This is definitely one of the nicer KONE modernizations I've seen in a long time. Both of these run flawlessly, and I can definitely see these lasting for a long time. Even though one of these was having issues on my final visit, the elevator didn't shut down and was able to fix itself with a little help. These are the types of mods I really like seeing these days: Quality while not lacking efficency. KONE definitely has it going in the modernization department right now.
It is sad to see the old elevators go, but after nearly 20 years of being worn out by shoppers, it was definitely time for an upgrade. I must say: Fantastic job KONE!
