Gege’s art got sketchier but better, his art style before was clean sure but it was still pretty amateur compared to his newer art style which is more refined and still pretty clean

Honestly it reminds me of JoJo’s, the whole concept of having a unique ghost creature with a strange ability that people can only see if they also have one is basically a stand, but that’s just interpretation Greg could totally make this a unique series

The way Gege says he hates Gojo but you can see how Gojo is basically based of different MC he has done in his one shots before, is kinda hilarious...I guess he hates Gojo so much just bc of that reason, as when you are an artist you tend to hate on your past's works/drawings as you find them cringe, or not good enough...Also I love how all the MC's being kinda crazy and with grey moralities ever since the beginning, the crazy looks indeed look like Gojo's crazy moments in JJK hahaha

I think there was also an interview with the editor of jjk manga. When asked which character gege resembles or acts like, he said gojo. So basically hatred of self.

Japan began serialisation in 1992. Berserk in 1989. So Japan isn't an "older work from Miura before he made it big". Berserk was already one of the hottest titles in Hakusensha's library at that point.

No wonder why Gege hates Gojo so much, they've been haunted by the guy as a main character their entire life! It's also interesting to see the mainly Buddhist and slightly Shinto influences in the works start so early.

gege hates perfection, imperfections make us human (and it is reflected in his characters designs in other mangas), thats why gege hates gojo, gojo is supposed to be a "perfect" character

i love reading old works, because it really shows how the writer has grown, evolved, but also what things have stuck throughout the years. i definately like gege's sketchy art though, perfect for the chaotic mayhem that is the world of jjk

The blacked out berserk mode Yuji and Gon at @3:50 is a reference to berserk if anything not to Hunter x Hunter. Well most likely to both because im sure Hunter x Hunter did as a reference to Berserk

This made me appreciate JJK even more, I didn't like No. Nine (Too Edgy, + the characters feel shallow), for the other two I believe they could be very good on their own, but I don't think they could ever match what Jujutsu Kaisen became.
