Just had my car weighed on The LumberYard scale. It weighs 2500 pounds. I'm pretty proud. But 1600 lb is crazy. I've always been fascinated with this car. Ever since I saw the guy pick up the back end of it.

When the video started , I said to myself "another K , what next" then when I heard the motor on the pass it didn't sound like a k and I said this has to be a B. Really impressed with you build Bro. Love your idea , love the fact that you still believe in the distributor cause it works amazing. New guys totally believe in K because they can't make a B work and they don't know much about them . I'm from Trinidad in the Caribbean and here we believe in the B series. It's by far the best Honda motor ever. I'm a H series guy for the last 12 years but nothing beats and sounds better than a B. Good job bro ! Keep it real and keep posting cause you got 1 fan here in Trini ! 💯

Damn! That's light. Props to Angel. The only thing I can think to shave some more time would be those rear wheels. They could be half as wide. Might be tough to source some rims and tires, but less weight and rolling resistance? You know that can't hurt. This is good content, I would watch a follow-up. I like this build.

At what point does weight reduction become problematic? Have the same exact chassis (eh/CX) sitting gutted and trying to figure out how far i can go when it comes to cutting. If i can reduce enough to compensate for the added cage then ide be happy`ish. Im torn between 8 point and 10 point cage, the price difference is marginal in the pre bent weld it yourself kits. Car would be used for road course (VIR,Dominion,Summit Point) Antique tagged to drive to and from track. Not a daily car at all. Thoughts?

Hey bud, ENKEI makes some racing wheels at about 10lbs a piece which is crazy light for a wheel. May wanna look in to it to shave some more weight off the car. Also gonna improve acceleration since the engine won't be rotating a heavier wheel. Might be worth a check out.

Realistically distributor is actually inferior to coil on plug...remember timing on distributor like a coil on plug is timed by the cam sensor..coil on plug utilize the ecu it self to generate the signal when to spark the individual coil on each cylinder...I've seen coil on plug on some cars with it only using 3 on a 6 cyl vehicle. .sharing spark from the other...but still coil on plug will give you a ignition timing advantage. ..I believe there Is gains...but I got distributor on my bravada I never got a individual misfire...only a multiple misfire...but on coil on plugs that I work on always individual coil failures that's the only weak spot from it...distributors just split one coil to each cylinder and it's less of a strain on an ignition system period

Everything you say is right. But the engine is making 300hp and doesnt need a stronger signal to each coil. The burn is efficient enough to not gain any power by the swap. The dizzy is fine to over 400whp so for NA its not worth it. He can put that money to something else.

@T-rev Motorsports Right the stock one is fine for 400whp with no issues. Really no point to upgrade since its only boosting the signal. I dont think AEM or hondata has enough function to boost it properly would prob need a m800 box to run it properly and some type of MSD booster for a few hp. That money can be put to a better use elsewhere. I always love the thought but when I research the result isnt enough to justify the cost. What is it 1k for the parts.

No there are three rockers and when vtec engages it locks the outer two to the middle one to give more lift on the cam lobe. There is a screen in the vtec solenoid that clogs and something you dont want to happen with 5k on the line. Be a dumb way to loose a race.

The car could be even lighter though... when you do a B18 or B20 series swap you add 80-100lbs.. if he had a d16 or a b16 he could have kept the same weight and cut from there so the car could weigh 1400lbs

100 lbs at this point would be so many small things all over the car to delete and shave off. It would be way more work than you'd want to get yourself into. Still, it can be done and the challenge is there for someone to take. 1500lbs? 1400lbs? What is the limit until it's dangerous to drive or falling apart?

Get a heat gun a take out the sound denter stuff in the inside and if it has has sprayed stuff underneath heat gun it off I did on a si civic it took off 5 to 10 pounds

I waited until it was below zero, allowed that stuff to freeze and then I chipped it off with a chisel. It broke off cleanly like glass with minimal paint damage.
