Clapton is good, but Bo Diddley was the coolest cat on the planet. I was nine years old in 1955 when I started hearing his music. That was it I had all of his records on 45’s, I still have them. Records were expensive in the 50s. I think a 45 was 95 cents. Keep in mind, a Coke was a nickel. Thanks for this lesson Eric. I don’t know what others think, but Bo Diddley was an experimental guitar player like Jeff Beck. Bo was doing this in the mid-50’s and I don’t think anyone other than Jeff Beck has come close to his musicianship and stage presence. His rhythm player, Jerome Green made his maracas out of toilet floats and beans. How cool is that? To this day I don’t think anyone has even come close, stage wise or as an experimental musician. From what I have heard he was a an all around good man.
