This is the best MFK, hands down. Yes it’s niche but with designer quality. It destroys the three you mentioned. The blend and quality of the ingredients are on another level. That’s what you’re paying for. The extrait is just absolutely incredible if you can find the extra money. It smells like absolute luxury.

I really don’t get this review. Or other people that are just disconsidering this fragrance most probably because they cannot afford it. Or they’re not that bright. Maybe both. Amyris pour homme has absolutely nothing to do with a designer fragrance. This smells top class ! And it is definitelly not boring as someone said ! If a high end gentleman’s fragrance is boring to some people, then they’re in the wrong business. I own Allure home sport eau extreme and although i like it a lot and is one of the best smelling versatile designer fragrances on the market, it goes in a different direction than Amyris. Amyris is more sophisticated, smooth and gentlemanly. Allure is more of a sporty/versatile offer. They are both great but they shouldn’t be put on the same par. Especially Amyris extrait de parfum is just a masterpiece ! I also own a few oher niche fragrances, like Pdm Layton, Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo and just got today Mfk Gentle fluidity silver, which are great too. So i kinda have a point of view. I also had many designer perfumes and trust me there are some differences in quality and the way the overall product smells. Again, Amyris smells hign end, luxurios and well blended. One of the best perfumes i ever smelled, specially the extrait version. It’s expensive but it’s absolutely worth it.

I agree. I sampled it and it didn't blow my mind. Gentle Fluidity Silver, Grand Soir and BR540 are my favs from MFK 😍

This is their best fragrance by far! I fell in love with it the first time I sprayed it, been buying it ever since 💙

I tested this on my arm at Nordstorm and fell in love with it. I went in to another store and the sales lady kept commenting how nice I smelled. The sillage was great. I don't know about the other three mentioned (haven't tested them), and I don't know about their longevity and sillage. I'll be saving my pennies to buy this one. You can always buy at discount fragrance sites, or preowned. Nowadays designer's have lost their minds with the pricing on their fragrances anyways.

Amyris Homme is a lovely fragrance and there isn't a designer fragrance that smells just like it. AND the quality is not replicated with designer. You can smell the quality in Amyris Homme. I don't know how to better explain. But it is definitely worth it. I would love to find a great dupe for this though, but haven't yet.

i love amyris. got it cheap (relatively speaking) as tester from fragnet. to me its a pleasant and easy wearing scent. does it smell designerish? what does that even mean. one can say aventus smells designerish. or baccarat rouge. its all in how you want to perceive it as and your bias will be confirmed as such. regardless, happy holidays. enjoy your channel, esp the way you pronounce the frags.

I’m late to this conversation but I’d like to add. I agree this has that designer feel to it however I do own this scent and I have to say it is very good quality it always gives me good responses and it can be found at the discounters for under 150 if your patient. Also no one is cloning this scent that I know of so although mass appealing as this may be it still doesn’t come off as cheap. I find once the scents become cloned even the original loses its edge

I totally agree with you! I tested it at Nordstrom in the US. It is a nice scent but doesn’t impress me with that price especially I appreciate complex scents more. I love MFK Oud Satin Mood and Grand Soir though. You look so pretty with the headband and gold blouse. So classy!

Certainly you have your detractors on this; however, I, too, haven’t pulled the trigger on this as I felt it didn’t achieve the distinction associated with niche fragrances. I should add I have BR540, Gentle Fluidity Gold and Grand Soir. On another note it’ll be interesting to see what Kurkjian will achieve now that he is the creative director at Dior. I find it sooo expensive and I don’t have access to their boutiques, as They don’t have any where I live, and also it’s to pricey to order online from USA to Oman. I don’t want to splurge, when I can find something more affordable from other houses. Times are tough nowadays.

Such a spot on description of the scent, but I definitely think it’s worth the buy if you got the cash to splurge. It’s well blended and offers the best of the 3 fragrances you compared it to. I bought mine recently and have been wearing the hell out of it. 😂

I sampled this version and it didn’t catch my attention neither, so I’m with you on this one.. BUT the extrait version! I fell in love with it recently. its still designer ish, and much more expensive. But the blend is so perfect and smooth, and nothing about it is out of balance in any way. And luckily nothing reminds me of it. Give it a try.

Your video is absolutely spot on, if U don’t mind spending the money go ahead and buy it you won’t be disappointed but however for us that have a closet full of fragrances of designer and niche can definitely whip out Freshies that are less expensive than Amyris that get the job and purpose done and also for the ones that want that luxury freshness without breaking the bank haha. Sampled this at a local Nordstrom and yes, your take is spot on that it is more of a designer juice that is severely over priced. I’d rather stick with Chanel Aluure homme or my favorite from MFK and that is Agua Universalis Fortis. Great Video Milady....

Hello Josephine You absolutely right about Amyris Homme, it's an nice fragrance but from a niche fragrance I expect more niche character and not a expensive desinger scent. For me the best Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrances are: Baccarat Rouge 540, Grand Soir, Oud Satin Mood, Gentle Fluidity Silver and Gold. The extrait de parfum versions from some of the fragrances are my opinion not necessary. I wish you and your family merry christmas 😇 Greetings from germany

Thank you for your review, I don’t know the other perfumes you mentioned, I like die Amyris Homme very much in the first 2-3 hours but then it starts to disappear. I can barely smell it after 3 hours and this is very disappointing. Baccarat Extrait hangs for weeks in my clothes, the Oud EDP also smells for one week easily sprayed on clothes, even Masculin Pluriel stays on clothes for at least 24 hours. I will try Amyris Homme Extrait, Gentle Fludity Silver and A la Rose Homme next!

Been waiting for this. Did you sample the extrait version of this ? For me its richer and lasts much more. I agree it does smell designer ish but the quality is niche fo sure.

Great review and thanks for your honesty. I've sampled lots of different fragrances this year and what I've learnt is that not every niche release matches the niche price tag. I know some enthusiasts like to have a full collection but like you suggest, I'd rather put the money towards something else.

At one of the luxury stores here in Toronto, they have a discovery set with 8 really great sized bottles, 11 ml. Amyris femme is in it. I smelled it last year and its beautiful. The set is pricey, but I'm splurging!

To my opinion, if you buy the big bottle (200 ml) this one is worth for someone who really get into it. Cuz the prize/ml is as the same as designer perfumes, but you get the niche quality.

After this review, I would love to hear your thoughts about Silver Mountain Water and Mephisto :-)

There is no coffee or chocolate featured in the fragrance. I got that info from Francis himself. He said the notes in the fragrance are what he has listed on his website.

Have you done any "complete/buy guide" video about MFK? I only seem to find this video and the one about BR540. Hope for a video like that! Only smelled a few MFKs at one occasion and Aqua Celestia Forte stood out for me by far.

you hit it on the nail with the paco rabanne similarity, I received the amyris sample, spray it and went out. Along the way, i keep on reminiscing my younger days of using paco rabanne.

I smelled it I thought it was amazing I just bought 6.8 oz of it I think compliments it's the only reason people wear cologne then to smell nice niche market takes smelly nice all the way up to smelling amazing that's what I'm going for

Always nice to see an honest review about a fragrance on youtube, where about 99% of reviews sold every fragrance like they are the best thing ever. Also thing the idea of show some cheaper alternatives it's something with potential, namely when talking about niche fragances, because not every niche fragance are that much better or even better at all, than designer fragances, and even if they are better, the price tag is too much for many people, and it's nice to know what is somewhat similar on a lower level.

Most stylish reviewer ever

Now all those designer chipies smell kind of alike with very synthetic messy drydown. Amaris is clearly difference from all that junk over the counter at macys.

I am keen to test the extrait version which appears to get a lot more love on fragnatica, but needless to say, its up to your own nose that matters. But after your smack down I am kind of worried.

Hey Jus. You mention clearly that Amyris reminds you of 3 fragrances with some plus and minus. Now you're not recommending it as it's pretty expensive. So, do we spray all 3 of those fragrances at once to kinda imitate the Amyris vibe? I don't think you would suggest that either. You could've simply asked ppl to sample before buying rather than discouraging us and not coming up with a solution.

So funny how fragrances are so subjective, I have worned br 540, grand soir, gently fluidity silver which I couldn’t even smell silver, I thought it was nothing special but this fragrance ammyris home was one of the best smelling fragrance I have ever smelled.

Smells like Pegasus of PDM on me.....i think its better for women....i really dont like that dry down its so unisex....anyway i also strongly think that has nothing in common with eau extreme and boss bottled intense....the latter is a Layton alternative. There are so many good MFK products, BR 540 is a masterpiece and Masculin Pluriel the best for men.

You know I bought a tester bottle of this and I was not impressed at all with this, it does not blend with my body chemistry I get maybe 2hours of it on me. And I own 1 million and to my surprise you are right it has almost the same smell. So I did on the back of each hand with each one and the 1 million lasted longer than the Amyrs homme on my skin type.

I love this fragrance - but you are right, it comes off like a niche version of Chanel Allure Homme Sport, Eau Extreme. There are very similar notes, but Amyris is better quality.

How about Aqua universalis forte should I buy?

I have this fragrance and you hit the nail on the head. I understand what you mean with the Paco Rabanne/Chanel comparison. Although this smells very good, it was not money well spent. MFK seems to be going the designer route since being purchased by LVMH in 2017. Charging niche prices for designer fragrances.

The smell is pretty close to original Burberry for men in my opinion. I got a sample at Neiman Marcus wore it for a few days smells almost similar

the first to mention similarity to boss bottled intense which I always though it does... honestly this fragrance is designer like only in its likability and appeal but no other fragrance smells exactly similar and yes it does have similarities with the fragrances you mentioned especially boss bottled intense and AHSE and I have all of them but amyris pour home does it in really creative sexy way , it gets complements way more than the designers you mentioned and more enjoyable and for sure worth its price.

For once i disagree. I'm a woman and i love that perfume. It's light but intense at the same time. I recognize the very masculine side of perfume but in winter i love wearing it. I like his comforting side surely the tonka, coffee and chocolate. Sorry for my english, i'm french.
