In this video, I dive into the transformative power of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and how they helped me turn my business around. Despite fewer bookings and uploads, and even losing some followers, this has been my most financially successful year. I'll share why focusing on KPIs and building a strong foundation for the future can sometimes mean putting out less content today. Don't worry I will be back on my content game soon!

The turnout of the audio quality on this video might be bothering you but this is truly one of the very best. The content is wonderful. It’s great that you got your sister in to help convey this message. My newest KPI is: learn what it means to “hold space” and hold space for my loved ones, my family and friends. I want them to feel seen and heard. I got about 7 more but this emerged from watching this video and watching “couples therapy” on prime. If I get this down, I think it could be such a game changer - it could change my whole life. Sending you lots of love!

This is everything I’m going through right now. Crazy enough I saw one of Lauren’s videos the other day talking about work life balance and how there’s no such thing. And now I’m seeing this. I just quit a job as an educator because it was destroying my relationships with the people I love. I spent more time at work or thinking about work than I did anything else. I literally couldn’t function outside of my job. Rarely eating, drinking water, and I don’t even have kids!! People will try to convince you that the hard work is what matters most but I work so that I can have a life not the other way around. Thank you for talking about this Shan!! Also everything you said about continuing Ed is why I love you. You show up with facts!

SHAN! THANK YOU!!!!! Thank you for letting us in. Thank you for letting us into what you were feeling last year. Thank you for moving through your process and laying these bricks down. Thank you for letting us back in to what you've been building. This energizes me like no other. I met you at your 2019 LA book release because it was a gift to tell you thank you for your positive impact via your reach here. Five years later, that gratitude has just multiplied. Off the top because you asked & inspired from this video ... my current goals I am weaving into/focusing/expanding this year * physically healthy * family time * passive money * education - getting my BSN -> DNP * stack money from job * gonna sit with this video more and figure out what it looks like to make these into KPIs for the year. Your movements are on my vision board. You are my Esther Perel. I hella appreciate you. like for real for real. Sending you and your family the biggest hug.

Shan, I been connected to your work from the SnapBack TGAW days IYKYK and, while there have been moments where I’ve circled out of sight of your sunshine (like Pluto), I have always and will always appreciate the vulnerability, authenticity, and resilience you have embodied from young adult to wife to mother to KPI Shannon… THANK YOU for ALWAYS showing up for YOUR DREAMS at the intersection of quantifiable SMART goals and continuing to be an inspiration to me. Just the other day I mentioned your TODOist app video to myself and found a pathway through a tough time. I’m so happy for you. ❤

My journey with undergrad is very similar Shan - thank you for sharing 💛 I’m in a somewhat similar position in that I wasn’t able to finish due to money, and as I get into my early career I’m at this point of reflecting on whether it’s worth it to go back and finish, but I appreciate your point about owing it to yourself and your community 💛💛💛

I have been a long time fan. In grad school almost a decade ago now, I devoured KZfaq content that inspired me and elevated my consciousness. Now I’m starting a business and watching this video makes me realize I need to do a deep dive with all the KZfaq creators that got me past that mile stone to a new milestone. I’m not sure what my KPI’s are anymore, as a type-a person, this is a first. But as I embark on entrepreneurial dreams I’m going to be as disciplined as I was for my academic “laurels”. Taking time to quieting improve my craft and set say a meaningful goal of say 100 new upcycled toys and 200 new toys of my own design is a small stepping stone. But one I believe I can meet. Hopefully in that process, I’ll learn more about my new industry and start to really add value to the community.

Love the way of framing your goals through KPI's and your sisters explantion of them. Mine (currently) is: 1. Buy a plot of land and convert it into a homestead where I receive 50% of my food needs 2. Facilitate the adoption of street dogs from another EU countries where street dogs exist to Danish dog owners 3. See my grandparents bi-weekly for lunch or similar activities 4. Set up a financially sound structure, where I earn enough to cover my basic needs, savings and small investments

My year has been unfolding so beautifully according to my plans. I'm very happy about that. My KPI in terms of art was to expand my shop offerings and commissions. I've already worked 5 markets this year, set up my Ko-Fi shop, and finished a whole mural commission. I'm young and the world is scary, so I know my biggest priority is to do everything I wanna do and have enough money to do it comfortably. Point blank period. Last year I released a music EP and got a job I love in the arts, the year before I started publishing my writing on my website. I already have another mural commission set up for the year and I'm going back to school come the Fall Semester. I'm literally just that bitch and I have the freedom and love and support to do anything I put my mind to. And I know I'm on the right path because I never cease to amazed myself at how beautiful my art is. I'm going back to school to get more tools to keep doing exactly what tf I wanna do. Even when I go back I'm thinking of pursuing an interdisciplinary studies degree to really meld all my interests into one. You Shan have truly been a big part of my unapologetic pursuit of my dreams. Like literally since I was very very young, I'd look to you as such a shining example of someone doing whatever tf they wanted in relationship and in business. That's what we call in Atlanta some really fly girl, boss ass shit. Like it's hard to put into words, but there's such a beautiful thing about your presence that is very generative to your audience. I'd love to see a study of who has followed you over the years and what that impact has been. Because truly for me the impact has been so clear and constructive to my relationships and belief in my power to shape my reality into what i want it to be. And that's the nature of sex education I think. It empowers you to move freely and creatively in your body. Much love Shan!

Family!! - i also wanted to be a working woman before I had my child, but my intuition has led me to come back to my son and be more hands on. Very uncomfortable move for my business but also the most aligned 2. Pursue education always. Just like you I'm pursuing to go back to school and get my masters 3. Find a new home for me and my family. We've been wanting to travel and experience life outside of Vancouver as a family and we're very close to making that happen this year 4.Create wealth !!
