I plan on going to a men’s salon because they do edgier hair styles and my previous stylist was all glam and gave me a short mom haircut so I’m looking to have more uniqueness ! Getting my this Saturday !

I have very round face 😀😀. I decided to get a pixie 2 weeks ago. My face actually looks slimmer ( which is opposite of what ppl warned me). The haircut actually spread ppl’s attention to your neck, your smile and all other features instead of focusing on the face shape. Have received many compliments!! Cons: - I spend extra 10’ every morning to style my hair with hair clay. - Wash my hair everyday. If your hairstyle doesn’t need wax/gel/clay/.. then it s not a problem

I have wanted a pixie cut for about 4 or 5 years, ever since i was 10 or 11. I wanted one so bad back then and I researched so much and learned about what hair would look best with my super circular face and I was really ready to get it cut. I asked my mom over the entire summer if I could get it cut because I wanted to get used to it before school started and she would keep telling me that its a hard style to maintain and that she had one when she was a teen and it took forever to grow out. I didnt care and kept saying I wanted it cut and then one day she straight up said I would look ugly. It really shocked me when she said that because she had never said anything like that to me before. Now over the past few years I have some time periods where I obsess over looking at short hair cuts and research and I annoy my friends with worried questions about how I would look with certain styles but im too scared to actually get it cut. Last night I almost cut off all my hair with some kitchen scissors so I would have to get a pixie cut but thankfully I didn't. I think its time for me to actually go through with a pixie cut, even if I look bad with it. I never style my long hair because its too much so its ALWAYS in a ponytail so I think short hair will be a good choice for me. Anyway I have come back to this video like 10000 times since you have uploaded it and it has really help me make this decision. (Oof this was just a long rant sorry)

I want a pixie but everyone keeps saying "no, get a bob" so I'm afraid I'm going to look awkward

Update from my previous comment: got my pixie today and freaking love it. I almost bailed but thankfully stuck to the plan.

I hate my long hair and really just want to chop it all off! I have a round face, and I'm overweight so the main reason I'm scared is because I feel it won't suit me. Saying that however, I've never styled my hair while it's long, all I ever do is tie it up as I work over a desk and I feel it's more practical. My grandparents hated it when I got a bob so they're gonna freak if I go any shorter too!

I'm watching this after I got a pixie. And I'm overweight and have a double chin and a chubby face and it looks awesome I love it.

I got a pixie several months back and yesterday got it trimmed. I LOVE it! It's so easy to manage and the upkeep is worth it. My husband thought he wouldn't like it, but he loves it too and thinks it makes me look like a badass 🙃 He even let me know when he thought it was getting too long.

I'm getting a pixie on Thursday and I'm really freaking excited. I ruined my hair by bleaching it, I was sick of having so much hair to deal with, and I wanted a boost of confidence ❤️

Ahhh not gonna lie I squealed a bit during the feature at the end. All of these tips are great! I also recommend researching hair products that are good for pixie cuts and having them in hand when you get it done. For me that was a pomade and texture spray.

I’m only young, going into high school soon, and I’m getting a pixie this Friday. This was definitely helpful and got me really thinking about it, and I can definitely say my motivation was working with knots and living in Australia, even winter can be hot and having long thick hair in that kinda humid weather is HORRID. I'm considered a pixie cut, I have been for months now. My hair is thinning due to hashimoto's syndrome. Being a woman with alopecia is very depressing. I got a pixie a few days ago, and I have more self-confidence now, then before. I think it's suits me and I never thought I am pretty, but now I feel better about myself. :) At first I was scared when the hairdresser just cut and cut and asked if it's short enough... But in the end I couldn't stop smiling, she was happy too that I loved the result. :)

My hair is super fine which is a trouble, as it never holds curl when styling but if i do permanent curling it would hold..too much curl. But yesterday i finally found a stylist who gave me perm just light enough to create big wave on my pixie bang and lift it up without making it super curly, just exactly how i wanted it to be (my fear is finally gone). I got my hair done pixie yesterday and can't stop looking in the mirror now. It really brings out my cheekbones and smile and makes my face look much slimmer. Watching this video after getting it done and i totally agree with you, doing as much research as you can before getting a pixie cut. And when you get it done in the way you want, girls, it CHANGES your life!💃💃💃

Last week I had my hair chopped into a pixie. Cut off about 10-12 inches in total. I'm still watching videos about pixies because I'm looking at all the ways to style pixie cuts. Before I saw the new hairdresser (I sought out a master stylist), I had loads of inspiration photos on my phone. Anyway, the reason I'm writing is that your suggestion to wear something that makes you feel pretty is a good one. Because I knew the pixie would be a huge transformation cut, the day of my appointment I put on a little makeup and a nice dress. It made a huge difference. When I walked out of the salon I felt like a new person, fresh and spritely. All good recommendations for those seeking to make the big chop.

This video really helped me to work out why I wanted a pixie, what I wanted out of the styles I liked and my stylist was so pleased that I'd gone with a list and talked to him about everything rather than just showing him pictures only. I want to say thank you for your help as I really do love my pixie cut. It's not even been 24 hrs yet but I do love it and can't wait to get creative with it. Thank you 😊 xxx

I definitely think these are super great recommendations, I just got my pixie and have been giving very similar tips. I also recommend asking the stylist what kind of products they use like if they use pomades, gels, or leave-in conditioners. You look great!

I had really long hair and had never had it short. When I got my pixie yesterday I told them I wanted it properly short. It was all done with clippers half inch on top and back and sides faded way down. I love the look and feel of it and thanks for giving me the courage to go through with it

Great episode you are right about finding a great stylist. I go to a guy who does aveda runway shows. A cut is $100 but I walk out of the salon feeling beautiful every time.

I changed hair styles every few months,sometimes monthly. You will be happy with the new short cut if you’re easygoing ,flexible,don’t mind changes. I had hair chin length to past shoulder to waist length to pixie even a boy haircuts (shaved sides and back slightly long side bangs). That’s what so fun about hairs,it grow ..so you can change back or to a different hairstyle. It’s more fun with shorter hairs,much faster to dry and style. You can colored your hairs as often as you cut without worrying about damaging your hairs. I like long hairs too but short hairstyles give me more confidence.

Going gray and cut off all the dyed hair just yesterday. My cut looks very much like yours this morning.

Things to think about: upkeep. Cow licks. May have to wet hair daily. Bangs in face. Upkeep. Upkeep. Upkeep. Looking bad in photos years later noticing lack of upkeep. Regrowth time. Back acne or dirty ears will not be hidden. You may miss option to do something different with your hair. You may have to try harder to feel /present self as feminine.

I got a pixie for my health. I’m in bed with chronic pain a lot and can’t hold my arms up for long. I used to keep it knotted up but bobby-pins hurt too much now. Anyone else have this reason?

I'm cutting 14 inches off tomorrow and donating it to Wigs for Kids. Tomorrow is my 35th birthday, so I'm excited to start the 2nd half of my 30's with something totally different. I've had a long pixie before but tomorrow I'm getting a short pixie that will be long enough on the top to do a faux hawk or just something cute but the sides and back will be short as heck. I love that your makeup is subtle. Many of the other videos on pixies have women wearing (imho) far too much eye makeup. They look good, but it doesn’t seem practical to me, for everyday wear.

I think go progressively shorter is the way to go if unsure. Long bob, shorter bob then pixie. So if you don't like it shorter, then it's not such a long haul to get to the previous stage that you preferred.

I got my middle back hair cut similar to yours a few days ago & I absolutely regret it. I HATE my hair in my face and the long front does exactly that.
