I run a int build with fire and musket that has a int gem in it. Get good at keeping a distance and use the fire staff for close range combat

dont worry it will take 10 shots with full dex at lvl 60 to kill people

I think that is where the sniper build will shine the most, where you get to really sit in that back line and pick off the high priority targets, while protecting your healers!

@@firefist906 Depends on a couple things. 1. If you just use the trade post, buy if it’s cheap.(check where the cheapest gems are in the world by opening the trade post and going to the top left drop down, and select all settlements) 2. If your good at jewel crafting, it’s super worth it to craft yourself! The onyx gem is super strong on musket!!! If you ever have questions please let me know! After that go to the mines u can get the lvl 25 fire musket.. then at lvl 28 , keep going to Pastor Walsh boss in brightwood. He will drop the boom stick 28. And then at lvl 31. U can craft a good one again. Slow route but worth it if u want to scale.

Thrust damage reduction cause USUALLY ur gonna be getting hit my other snipers. But if you mean perks, the empowering shooters stance is nuts as well as keenly jagged

Aw man tbh It varies on the specific expedition your doing, different mobs deal different damage, I havent done enough testing to know which is the best all around yet haha

Bomb and shooters stance are both GREAT! Both very situational, but great at what they do. If you are great at aiming take shooters stance, if not take sticky bomb! For specific weapons sadly I Just usually got mine from the Trade post while leveling, CHEAP ones only though

That would be a NASTY very consistent combo if you can figure out how to land it. THATS insane

I love it! I think its INCREDIBLY powerful in the mid range! Especially if you use it almost like a "shotgun". Super good up close/mid range!

@@drewscatterday8020 I have used Hatchet/rapier/spear with my musket. The IG is also viable but the above are better alternatives. In regards to the Intellect build. It is shown in recent data - if you want to completely maximize your damage. The intellect build is not the way. 250 Dex/100 intellect is the best stat dispersion for max damage. The reason for the 100 intellect is of course secondary trait damage of musket but also the 10% crit damage increase. Couple all that with your other increases of damage/crit it just adds to the flavour. You can also go as comeback kid suggested and stack constitution. But honestly, you shouldn’t be in melee Range in wars and group skirmishes. It’s ultimately up to what play style you choose. Long range/mid range/short range

@@Stormmud What talents would you recommend for PvP? I've been using Powder Burn, Trap and Sticky Bomb. I get what you mean when you say it's slow to equip.

I don't think that it stacks with fire staff passives, and yes you do lose "natural" dps when you are full intellect instead of using dexterity.

@@TheComebackKids Thanks mate, stacking burns + extra damage for burning targets was nice, but your pure dexterity build looks more effective. I've switched.

I personally wanna try a heavy armor spear/rapier build tbh! Looks super fun! Maybe grab bleeds in both specs??!?!? I'll have to do some serious testing for everyone before i try that bad boy out!

Fo me personally I cant play front gauntlet or staff.. it just seems not accurate for me and I have bad feelings about it. Also bow on mid-range is about luck if you hit or not.. coz if not, you are doomed against musket. Alsu musket seems super clean to me.. i exactly know where it lands and when.. with the bow you have to string it with gauntlet you have delay between your click and actual attack and you have to madly track after you click "attack"

I've also heard musket is a little bit buggy right now and recommendations from lvl 60 players has been to switch to bow til its fixed, any chance you can weigh in on it for me? - also why Medium armor?

I personally stay away from stopping power, because it takes away from one of the incredible damaging abilities musket can bring. Traps brings wayyyyy too much to the table to pass up IMO. But!!! Play what YOU love! Create your own playstyle that fits you!

It is definitely buggy at times for sure. Id say like 10% of shots don't even register on the target when you hit them. I also recommend medium armor if you are going the muskateer build, DEF not sniper build

@@Fabut You are severely underestimating the power of powder burn headshot from full HP

@@Fabut You are disregarding full int+onyx. The two stack causing the burn to be monstrous normally only requiring a single follow up shot if you want them to die faster. Full dex+onyx still cannot ne-shot most. Likewise you are disregarding that you only need to get it to 300. The rest goes right into dex. I will grant you this is only effective at cap where you have all of your points as access to the best gear with the highest stat bomues and is only good if you are good at landing headshots. Where this build works and is indeed superior to full dex it hitting stationary or nearly stationary targets that are at full HP. This deletes anyone on siege guns and anyone who A: goes into shooter's stance at long range or B: has tunnel vision at long range. This build is really mostly just the perfect counter-pick to enemy ranged units in wars. Dex is defiantly superior for A: more flexibility B: you can't land headshots consistently/your connection sucks C: open world PvP and PvE in general. One MAJOR pro for full int though is this: Ice gauntlet/fire staff secondary for AoE/CC to add that kind of flexibility. This build for musket is ideal for someone who already is specked for fire staff and/or ice gauntlet but wants to mix things up and do long range from time to time without having to re-allocate points/change their gear too much.

@@TheComebackKids I rush my engineering for it man, when I was lvl 20 I wanted that gun so bad I crafted a 1500 gunpowder, I level up to 22 doing it lol. Still though, using that for almost 10 lvl is very worthed.

Well I dont like to use any exploits or anything, the best way for me was through pvp, you get a BUNCHH from that. Or aoe farm with sticky bombs

Sword and Shield is a little bit tough, I think the best way to go about it is to kite and wait for the enemy to get impatient, and then make them pay.

I mostly just kite them and go in for some rapier stabs when Fleche is up.

Well if you are playing the sniper build, RIGHT after that power burn/power shot you would load up the other one and immediately enter shooters stance. It just buffs you at ranged even more and the reload speed is the same.

Replace power shot with Shooter stance IMO. You can kill people before they even know where they are getting shot at from!

Depends on the build and off hand weapon. If you are playing mid range spec i would honestly rec medium, but if you are playing like a sniper build for sure light.

I would wear medium armor and grab as much const/dex gear as you can. Your more of a mid range fighter rather than sniper. Grab onyx gems on armor as well!!

PERSONALLY I cant STAND full int. Feels Super clunky ew. Full dex is nasty imo, Automatic crit every 10 seconds? it's disgusting with how many perks you can line up with it

@@TheComebackKids I get all the advantages of dex with all the crit bonuses. That being said int has some good perks too. Like the damage over time and the elemental damage buff which I think powdered shot scales with. Also that 30% damage to full health players, I mean you can sometimes get them to half health…. Would be a dope video comparison between the two to see which one is stronger.

That might be because you character is "exhausted" and out of stamina!

Hey Multii, yea the musket is certainly not the strongest weapon in the game, but it is good enough to compete with any weapon in the game! And it also has it's strengths where it beats out any other weapon!

Trap and Sticky Bomb are your friends when spawn rates are a little hectic!

Those are the two weapons I've been using from day one actually. If you can't keep them at a distance with the bow and rolls, the spear is a great tool to put a stop to them quickly.

@@TheComebackKids Its a great little ambush build. The guy I got it from one shots anything not wearing heavy armor at lvl 60. Even the heavies only take an extra shot or two depending on placement

Do the 15% elemental damage and the 30% duration actually apply to Powder burn dot damage? I considered this as well but doubted it would work.

Yes, the reason being is your musket would be your MAIN source of damage it would be 50/50 with spear or rapier for sure. MAYBE even heavy, I have to do more testing for you all!

Id reccomend grabbing traps, powder burn, and shooters stance. It makes you a really good all around player, and great survivability with traps! Make sure to grab scent of blood as well!

@@TheComebackKids Im mainly SPear/Bow, but im side leveling Rapier Muskey cause they are dope.

If you are rolling out completely alone, I would grab traps, shooters stance and powder burn. If you are REALLY good at dodging and at least landing body shots with the musket,wear light armor. If you average or below average I would recommend the musketeer build FOR SURE. You will be a beast at mid range and if anyone steps up to you, you cc them with spear, or do some burst with rapier and disengage. Just make sure you grab lock n load, and the trap healing for sure if your medium armor. If you need more question on specific talents please let me know.

@@TheComebackKids why shooter stance? I heard that was, for the most part, bad in solo pvp.

@@mdm5287 if you have the opportunity to get the jump on someone before they know your there, load up a powder burn, then get in shooter stance, they will die before the final shot in that shooters stance for sure. Also you can pair shooter stance with traps, so the second they land in it, you activate the ability and land 2-3 headshots

@@TheComebackKids thanks for helping! I picked all you suggested and went with the shooter stance, powder burn and traps. Only thing I am a bit leery of is traps. They are very situational and against other range opponents getting them in a trap is near impossible.

@@mdm5287 I agree. But at ranged you should have all the advantages in the world. You have instant travel time projectiles and light armor to dodge projectiles AND instant reloads with Lock n Load. You should dominate ranged fights. If they have ice gauntlet or fire staff, get far away from them so they cant use there abilities and chunk you in mid rage, and you should dominate bow users as well! Dont worry about trying to trap targets at range, make them make the mistake of blindly running toward u to take away your range advantage.
